Being attacked by both right & left simultaneously is a good sign

NEW: Elon Musk plans to eliminate ~3,700 jobs at Twitter on Friday. About half the staff. He also plans to end the “work from anywhere” policy… story w/ @EdLudlow pic.twitter.com/mADZUbJcDy

This is why you should never try to appease the activists https://t.co/26jgxYWzzO

He has had the company for literally 1 week and made no changes until today when he did layoffs.ScruffyD said:
What's weird is the company seemed somewhat successful before he bought it? Makes you wonder if he came in and changed things that made it less so.

Depends on the goal.ScruffyD said:
Somewhat successful: countless users, thousands of employees, many advertisers, along with every expectation the site will be there when I type it in.
Today: losing users and advertisers, firing employees in a manner that will get it drug into a class action lawsuit, fully expect the site to just be gone one day, possibly next week.
Which would you prefer after spending billions to acquire it?
Scruff-o-lopogus, it is everyone else that is having trouble with reality. You are the only one who correctly perceives the world around you.ScruffyD said:
This sidebar was framed around Elon's complaining about what is happening since he took over.
I guess if that was his goal he would just stay silent. But many of you no longer exist in reality or fact - and to your point, maybe that's why he paid what he did in time for Tuesday.

Truly amazing how Musk, having done absolutely nothing, has forced these cretins to drop the mask and admit how much their epistemic authority depends entirely on top down manipulation of what people see, hear, and say… https://t.co/AYapZtgKiP

Why does this only make me happier? How will we survive without the "trusted" blue-checks on Twitter to tell us how to think?
That assessment is more accurate than most people realize

Musk's "crime" as such is failing to signal sufficient loyalty to the regime

The "activists" in question are journalists at NYT and their cabal https://t.co/PX3BIA1TPI

Twitter is full of Chinese and Russian propaganda, porn, videos glorifying street crime and violence, and people promoting terrorism. But it was only when Elon Musk took over that advertisers decided it wasn't brand-friendly.

Surely we’ll be getting play-by-play coverage of the tragedy of the layoffs like we did with Twitter https://t.co/7TWmdvMGw4
