First: He is one of the leaders that got us to this point. Already the USA is beginning to be paralyzed because so much money is needed to pay interest on the national debt. The annual debt interest went from about $600 billion to near $1 trillion this last year. There will be no operational funds if the problem is not addressed now.
Second: Trump alienates people on his staff so that I believe he will have a difficult time staffing a quality cabinet.
Third: Trump encouraged citizens to use unproven drugs during COVID 19.

Trump said some pretty stupid things about disinfectant, Invermectin and Hydrocloriquine as treatments for Covid. Those comments by Trump are on record. Look it up.
Smdh. Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin *are* legitimate treatments for COVID. Hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic when taken with Zinc and Ivermectin immediately after infection with its anti-viral properties. How in the hell are there still people out there that do not know this? The reason they were discredited was because the emergency authorization of the vaccines *required* that there be no other alternative treatments available. Otherwise they would have had to go through the normal protocol of safety trials.

Do I think cheap, generic potential treatments were ignored for a Vax Only response - likely. Fauci literally ran the same play with HIV in the 80s and was Enemy #2 among the bathhouse boys. Tens of thousands likely died due to his incompetence.

Hydroxychloroquine was briefly authorized for use as a Covid treatment. The authorization was revoked because it was risky and ineffective. Some 12,000 people in the US are estimated to have died during the pandemic from off-label use of HCQ in hospitals. Shortages were also imminent, so the supply needed to be kept for malaria patients and others who really needed it.
Ivermectin was found to have anti-viral effects in vitro, but the doses were far higher than humans could safely consume. Further studies showed no strong evidence that it was beneficial as a Covid treatment. As with HCQ, Ivermectin use was discouraged because the risks outweighed the benefits.
I don't think recommending against a treatment means you're condemning or vilifying it. What was condemned and vilified was the misinformation and disinformation surrounding the issue. Ivermectin studies in particular had more than their fair share of outright fraud. The key research supporting it was quickly retracted for falsifying data, but the hype continued on social media and elsewhere.
Zealots on both sides need to understand masks for what they are. They're a collective measure to slow the spread of the virus and make the pandemic more manageable. They do work in that sense. They don't necessarily give a lot of protection to the individual wearing the mask. They do somewhat, but mostly they protect others. So the more people wear them, the more effective they are.
