And you see no difference with that being determined in the field by the on-site Commander versus an order from SecDef going into the mission? We had people in Officer Training talk of double-tapping in field exercises, which ended up with a ton of bricks coming down on them, almost cost one active duty. It is illegal, you cannot do it. ANYONE in leadership cannot condone that behavior, that is how you end up in a Mai Lai trail. But, keep playing internet Rambo...

We will see how it plays out. I fear it is not going to end well for little Petey. Professionals are not going to go down or even lose their pensions for him.

That is what you are missing. It doesn't. It puts more on them. It is an unlawful order being given by the Sec of Defense. Your first response is that all orders are legal, until they are not. The whole chain following the order will be held responsible. I was just following orders does not hold up and hasn't ever. He put some poor E7 or O3 in a **** spot leaving it to them to make the call on following or not.

I agree with you that the normal way of making those decisions in the field with the information at hand is the way it should go. That gives the guys in the field more cover, not less.

The whole Dem following orders thing now makes sense, it was NOT a random thing, it was because someone there is telling them what is going on.

Brilliant. It's a good thing we don't have any ships positioned where they could do the same

China does not have the naval assets to challenge the US Navy in our part of the world.

And they certainly don't have the forward supply capability to sustain any military operations.

Best China could do is threaten Taiwan....and that day is coming regardless.

Decades of 'arrests, appeals sentencing didn't remotely get the job done.

But some folks have selective memory


Now if a way could be found to summarily execute land based smugglers…..the US narcotics supply chain would quickly dry up.

Want to use the military, then Congress needs to declare war or issue a AUMF after 60 day. Congress, that is thr Constitution. The US also does't order No quarter that is illegal.
