Nixon was the best choice both times. Says all you need to know about those days, doesn't it?
Looking back I would have voted for Senator Hubert Humphrey over Nixon, Trump, Obama, Bush(2), Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or any of the current batch of Leftists masquerading as Democrats.
Hell I would have written Humphrey a big fat campaign contribution.
Hubert Humphrey was not a good choice, I will leave it at that.
Compared to Nixon and the last 16 years of craziness....Humphrey would have been a massive improvement.
Nope, Humphrey was clueless in foreign policy, he would have stayed in Vietnam for one thing, and he would have given away the Panama Canal before Carter got his chance.
Humphrey was also pro-union.
Lots of assumptions there my friend .
But Nixon, Obama, Clinton, Bush(2) and Trump have done little to retain the prestige and power of the United States.
At least Humphrey loved his country and had personal integrity.
Hell he would be considered an arch conservative these days and thrown out of the Democratic Party....union backing or not .
Back in 1968, most Democrats supported America's ideals.
I have different opinions on the Presidents you mentioned to varying degrees. A lot of the problem is how the media manipulates Presidents, and how often the POTUS allows that to happen.
That alone is a reason to appreciate what Trump has done.
He's kind of like the plumber who looks bad, smells bad, tells dirty jokes, but is the best at clearing out messes and leaving things better than he found them. You don't want him over as a dinner guest, but when you have a problem, he's on speed-dial.
I could say good things about all the Presidents you listed, even the ones with whom I disagree.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier
