Baylor 24 at Kansas State 31

The Bears got blown out by the wildcats in Waco last year and while I don’t think they will this time around they still won’t be able to get the job done. The Wildcats need this game to stay alive in the Big 12 race and they do it behind a strong day overall. The defense plays solid and keeps the bears below 20% on 3rd down conversions and they force two empty redzone trips. Will Howard doesn’t light the world on fire but he make enough plays to keep the offense moving and putting points on the board. KSU leads the whole way as they are able to position themselves in a tie for 2nd place in the conference with just two weeks remaining.

Texas 35 at TCU 45

The Horned Frogs simply outwork the Longhorns in this game as they do all the little things right while Texas’ complacency finally catches up to them. TCU wins the turnover battle 4-1, Texas misses two field goals, TCU wins the time of possession battle 38-22, and the penalty battle 3 to 9. Chandler Morris throws three touchdowns including two to Savion Williams as he paces a strong day for the Frogs as they post nearly 500 yards of total offense. Texas battles but ultimately they can’t overcome the slow start nor can they make up the numerous miscues. TCU is still alive in the Big 12 title race.

West Virginia 17 at Oklahoma 41

The Mountaineers have played good football this year but they are totally overwhelmed on the road in Norman. Dillon Gabriel throws three touchdowns and Jovantae Barnes adds another more on the ground to go along with 150 rushing yards. West Virginia turns it over three times including a Dasan McCullough pick six in the 3rd quarter as this one gets ugly.

Iowa State 13 at BYU 16

The Cyclones are still trying to get the first conference win of the year on the board but things just continue to go wrong for them. The offense sputters on the road against a Cougars team that needs this win. Kedon Slovis finds Keanu Hill for a 45-yard touchdown to start the 4th quarter which ends up being the game winner. This game is a grind but BYU finds a way to get the win.

Cincinnati 33 at Houston 21

Two newcomers in the Big 12 this year who have had rough seasons but at this point in the year Cincy feels like the team playing with more confidence at this point while the Cougars are trying to get this season over with. Corey Miner scores three times and totals over 200 yards of offense as he carries the Bearcats to a big day offensively. Meanwhile Houston continues to turn the ball over at an alarming rate and they struggle to run the football. Comfortable win for Cincy in this one.

Texas Tech 45 at Kansas 48

Shootout in Lawrence as these two teams go back and forth. Both Jalon Daniels and Tyler Shough total over 400 yards of total offense. The difference in this one is minimal but the best player finds a way to get his team the win. Daniels finds Lawrence Arnold for a touchdown to tie the game with 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter then he leads a game-winning drive down the field and Seth Keller nails a 38-yard field goal. Jayhawks win!

Oklahoma State 28 at UCF 48

The Pokes just knocked off Oklahoma in the final Bedlam game in a while so they are going to be feeling really good about themselves while walking into the ultimate trap game against a good UCF team. This one is a shootout for about two and a half quarters but the Knights keep a double digit lead through out and eventually pull away completely in the 3rd quarter. Big day for John Rhys Plumlee and the offense plus the defense totals six sacks and three forced turnovers. Tough trap game for Mike Gundy and company.
