Baylor Basketball Moves Up Two Spots in Both Major Polls
The Baylor Men’s Basketball team has moved up in the major national polls after two weeks of dropping. The Bears now sit at No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches poll, gaining a pair of spots in both thanks to UConn, Houston and North Carolina plummeting in the polls.
Baylor plays at No. 25/RV UConn on Wednesday and will be wary of a Huskies team coming off of a 1-3 week. Those three losses came at the Maui Invitational to Memphis, Colorado and Dayton.
For No. 17/18 Houston, the 11-spot drop in both polls was the result of a 1-2 week with losses to No. 10/12 Alabama and No. 24/RV San Diego State sandwiching a victory over Notre Dame.
Out in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels fell almost ten spots in both polls to land at No. 20/22. Their losses were to No. 2/2 Auburn and Coaches poll No. 25 Michigan State, both at the Maui Invitational.
Around the Big 12, Kansas still sits atop both national polls while No. 6/5 Iowa State and No. 14/14 Cincinnati join Baylor to round out the conference representation.
Arizona dropped out of both polls after losses to Oklahoma and West Virginia. The Wildcats still received votes in the Coaches poll.
Arizona State, West Virginia, BYU, and Texas Tech received votes in both polls this week.
