Welcome back! It’s time to project the Big 12 season for every team once again. Over the next couple of weeks, I will go through the entirety of the upcoming season for each team in the Big 12, pick the conference champion and make bowl projections.
Obviously, there is still a lot that can change, but barring significant injuries for any of the teams, we are in a good spot for some predictions. With that said, let's do this!
The Knights have a new head coach in Scott Frost and a completely revamped roster heading into the 2025 season. They brought in a whopping 67 new players this offseason, which is very likely going to be a bad thing. This group has a few good parts, but as a total roster, there are a ton of question marks at every single position. The experience is especially lacking at quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back. This is going to be a problem for them all season long and will make them inconsistent.
This matchup is a great spot for Baylor to really dominate on both sides of the football, especially on Homecoming Weekend. This is going to be one of the most complete performances of the season for the Bears against an opponent that has too many holes. I expect Sawyer Robertson to put together a four-touchdown performance in this one as the passing attack holds the biggest advantage. Defensively, this is one of the best opportunities Baylor will have to pile up five-plus sacks in a game. Bears win big.
