Expect Mulkey to have a large number of players texting her tonight and tomorrow - many of which would like to fill the Jackson GT role next year. Chloe made a statement - at LSU she wouldn't be getting even a whiff of draft talk. The system you put yourself in is crucial to your success and she just did the an amazing recruiting pitch. Sic'em

Congratulations, Lady Bears!

I'm glad Kim was able to hold herself together for the team during the 4th quarter. I was crying with her at the end when Holly Rowe was interviewing her. THIS is why we love Coach Mulkey. She loves every one of those girls on her team, and the girls love her.

Congrats Lady Bears! You earned this one.

I didn't get a chance to see, did Muffett did a little jig going off the court?

Pretty sure Muffit thought they had this game - everyone was talking about hw amazing they were. With Lauren we win by 15 in the end - thankful we pulled it out and secured Mulkey a championship after a rough offseason. Notre Dame loses everyone next year - and hopefully both Gusters and Andrews were watching closely and we get a commit soon - at Baylor we play for CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

I doubt it. Probably in a hurry to remove Mulkey from her Christmas card list. Outside of the Big 12, Notre Dame and Muffet are my favorite ones to beat. Especially for our last 2 National Championships as well.

Winning this National Championship has to be one of the all time great moments in Baylor athletics history. Not just because beating great teams (Oregon and Notre Dame), but because of all the storylines both on and off the courtKim's family's hardships, Kristy Wallace's injury, scandal, etc . And for Lauren to go down during the game.

Someone mentioned it an earlier post about being very emotional. I concur. I lost it when I saw Kalani go find Lauren after the victory and give her a huge hug. Tears were flowing. Just wow!

I agree, we were just about to hit LC time. Chloe, Nalyssa, an Kalani time was pretty awesome too.

When this team can go toe to toe with the Irish for the last 5 min w/o Lauren Cox and all the momentum on their side it speaks to their heart. It's like nobody believes you can win but inside you are just focusing on the task one possession at a time and knowing you have to play with your head in the game and make the play to win. Chloe was built for this moment. The oldest and youngest came to play the last 2 minutes. We had the whole 4th qtr to play without Cox and they figured out how to do it and the last second. Never mind the missed FT by Arike. What it took just to get to that point was nothing short of amazing. ND only looked like they did all season w/o Cox in the game. They just went back to jacking up the shots knowing they had a good chance for the O rebound. It's actually very smart, but the shots were dropping anyway.

Got to give all the credit to Chloe and Nalyssa to take this to the end and it became a 1 or 2 possession game. Also we never let ND get more than a one possession lead on us. That would have hard to deal with. But every time they scored we were still within one possession of the lead ourselves and so at the end it just took one final great 5th yr senior moment. I saw the drive coming the whole time, but really I thought ND blew it when they did not foul her before the shot. They had one to give and I was screaming at the TV not to let the clock get down to 6-7 seconds and then they foul you and you have to inbound with like 5 sec to even get a shot off. I knew Chloe was going to take it to the hole, but I also knew ND knew it if I knew it and they would foul her before she started the drive. But once she went baseline you cannot foul b/c all she has to do is shoot the ball and the way she was shooting it easily could have been an AND ONE.. So that is why they could not foul her once she started to drive. It was dumb for them not to foul PRIOR to that. Foul off the ball was the way to go but Muffit muffed it bigtime. In this kind of game it is ONE DECISION you make or do not make that wins or loses the game. Mulkey outcoached her using her TO's. Not sure I would have put Moon on Arike on the final possession, but she is leaper so it kind of made sense. We would not have survived OT without Lyssa anyway.

It was win in regulation or lose by 10 in OT. We had maybe 2 or 3 good possessions left in us. They wanted OT so bad.. Mulkey knew it was regulation or bust so praises to her for figuring out what Chloe could do on the final possession though. The one bad call was Didi NOT throwing the ball to the other end with 1.9 sec left. I could not believe she actually threw the ball inbounds right under our bucket. Might want to do a little final play work next time. But Iwe had not TO's left and no time to even hardly think about it. Bet we do from now on.

Sorry for the long post, but man this was as good as it gets for any kid wanting to play bigtime NCAA hoops at BU. Mulkey is always recruiting even in post game interviews. She is amazing!

So proud of our Lady Bears. If LC wasn't hurt and the Irish didn't get a 15-0 FT advantage in the second half, wouldn't have even been tight at the end. Our ladies showed amazing guts and determination. What a legacy they made tonight!
What a team!
