Championship Game: Baylor vs. Notre Dame Preview & Game Thread

The reason everyone plays the game arrives Sunday April 7 in Amalie Arena. The Baylor Lady Bears will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a battle between two of the top programs over the past 15 years. Both have two national titles during that time and this will be a game of strength on strength in the paint and perimeter. Baylor is 36-1 and Notre Dame is 35-3 on the season with Baylor having a 28 game winning streak and Notre Dame with a 14 game winning streak on the line.

This is a coaching clinic. The girls are incredibly focused. Not straying at all from the game plan. KM is at her best tonight on the biggest stage, very impressive.

Meanwhile, our girls are shooting lights out at 61%.

We survived half of the second quarter with Didi on the bench - she needs to have a solid third quarter and not foul! We need her on the court - we lost some momentum with the three bigs in - happy to have a double digit lead at halftime, if you had offered it to me before the game started I would have taken in all day long - 20 minutes to go - don't get complacent and just stay with what you are doing!!!

I'm very pleased with the Baylor Lady Bears leading by 12 points in the 1st half. 30-8 huge advantage for the Lady Bears over the Irish with points in the paint. Even more impressive is the 14-2 fast break points lead by Baylor. Fantastic 1st half for Chloe Jackson with 14 points. 20 minutes down, 20 minutes to go. GO LADY BEARS!

We would be uncatchable if Kalani had not missed all 5 FT's. In a game like this you give ND a fighting Irish chance by making unforced errors and it could be the difference. Must must must slow this game down and only run off of D rebounds and only if it is there. ND thrives on as many possessions as they can get and when we control the tempo they cannot get it going.
