The ultimate tailgate package for Baylor’s 2019 season!

A new favorite to make the Big 12 Championship emerges and road tests create separation between the top and the bottom half of the conference.

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Week 9 | Week 10 | Week 11

Week 12

TCU 31, Texas Tech 28 (Lubbock)

The Red Raiders need this win to become bowl eligible and because of that they will play really well. Bowman comes out the gate throwing the ball all over the place and ends up with 350 yards through the air but Tech runs for less than 75 yards. TCU has a nice balance on offense as the combination of Delton, Olonilua, and Anderson combine for 250 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Delton also throws for over 200 and a touchdown. Tech has the ball with six minutes left when Bowman is strip-sacked and returned for a touchdown by Shameik Blackshear. That gives the Horned Frogs an 11-point lead. Bowman leads a touchdown drive late but Tech can’t recover the onside kick.

Texas 27, Iowa State 37 (Ames)

This is a huge swing game in the Big 12 and the winner will have a great shot at making the championship game. Brock Purdy and Sam Ehlingher each finish with three touchdowns. Unfortunately for Texas all of Ehlingher’s come in the second half. The Cyclones build up a 20-6 lead at half as the crowd gets into the game early and often. The slow start leads to a ton of throws for Ehlingher in the second half where he has three touchdowns but he also turns the ball over twice. The Iowa State defense does it’s job and forces an inefficient outing for the Longhorns while the Cyclones offense chews away clock and moves the ball consistently for 60 minutes. Iowa State proves how good it’s defense is and how tough they are to beat at home. Matt Campbell has the Cyclones on the verge of making a Big 12 Championship appearance.

Oklahoma 41, Baylor 33 (Waco)

The Sooners travel to Waco in what could be considered one of their biggest trap games of the season for them. Baylor is coming off a loss and should be extremely motivated to get back on track immediately. The Sooners run game is nearly impossible for Baylor to stop for large parts of this game. Hurts, Brooks, and Sermon combine for 300 yards on the ground against the Bears 3-4 defense. Baylor is able to score with Oklahoma thanks to a nice blend of the pass and run game as Baylor has over 500 yards. Denzel Mims has 120 yards with two touchdown catches and Trestan Ebner has 100 total yards of offense and a score. This keeps the game close but in the 4th quarter the Baylor defense gets completely gassed trying to stop the rushing attack as they give up 14 points in the quarter. Brewer and the Bears are unable to keep up. The Sooners are able to get the road win with enough stops and a potent offensive attack.

West Virginia 17, Kansas State 21 (Manhattan)

The only matchup of the week between two teams in the bottom half of the conference is the Mountaineers against the Wildcats. Both teams struggle on offense for the majority of the game just like they have for large parts of the season. This game is tied at 14 going into the fourth quarter when James Gilberts busts a 40-yard run for a touchdown to give Kansas State the lead. Austin Kendall drives the Mountaineers across midfield after a couple completions to T.J. Simmons. Kendall drops back on 4th down with two minutes left when Reggie Walker sacks him to put the game away.

Kansas 23, Oklahoma State 41 (Stillwater)

This one is a shootout in the first half as Les Miles plays the Cowboys, a team he used to coach, for the first time in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks pile up 400 yards of total offense in this game thanks to Pooka Williams in large part. Williams has 200 total yards of offense as his monster year continues. Unfortunately they can’t keep up in the second half as Chubba Hubbard has a four touchdown day and Tylan Wallace catches a touchdown. The Pokes stay alive in the Big 12 Championship race.
