Penn St and Indiana are going to get in without a single quality win

They've beaten no one with a pulse… they play at Ohio St in a few weeks and will get destroyed. They somehow avoided Oregon, Iowa, and Penn St

Over the next few weeks there are some really important games among top 10s.
It will be fun to watch it all play out. Soon it will be our turn.

Indiana will face their first ranked opponent. That one loss might keep them out of the conference championship game. Ohio State looks beatable. So does Georgia's offense.

I like football

Destroyed?

It is Indiana, who has been dog **** historically. However, destroyed seems a little over the top.

I'll gladly eat crow if wrong but Ohio St is going to win that game by 21 plus.
They're beating everyone they play handily I'll give them that. They've also played by far the weakest schedule of anyone currently in the bracket and it's not particularly close

No real surprises here.

4 B1G teams
4 SEC teams
1 Notre Dame (which will always be allowed in if they have a winning record just because)
1 Big 12 team (because they have to let the champion in)
1 ACC team (because they have to let the champion in)
1 G5 team (because they have to let the best of the G5 in)

B1G & SEC will eventually get rid of the automatic conference qualifiers and it will be 5 SEC, 5 B1G and then a couple of randos to make it look like everyone has an opportunity.

Committee using the 'game control ' metric to put Indiana over BYU ...we remember that from 2014.

Next is the Time Zone metric.

Alabama has ZERO business being in that group of 12. If only S. Carolina had not choked...

If every team on that list wins out, the BCS computers would have sent Oregon and Miami to the national championship. Bring it back.

Agree. I'd expect a 3 score loss to Ohio State. Considering this will be their only ranked opponent I have a hard time believing they will be adequately prepared given their schedule.
No horse in the race and don't care who wins but I am assuming a beating. And a loss that big might know h them from contention in the Big 10 championship game.

This is a fun season overall.

If Indiana gets blown out as I suspect I'm not sure how you justify them in the playoff at 11-1 with 0 quality wins. Same for ND… there's no way they deserve to be in…

I think they've basically said as much.

We need ISU to beat BYU in the Big12 championship. Assuming BYU stays undefeated along the way

Makes me no difference who represents the B16 in the CFP. I'll be pulling for them. Any success will boost our conference across the country.

I say that because I want 2 teams in the playoff. Right we only have 1

B12 is only getting 1 in regardless. Look at how they have the teams after the top 12 ranked. They have Bama in at 12. If they lose Saturday LSU will replace them. There's no path for the B12 to 2 in unless ND loses again and Indiana falters

If LSU beats Alabama, it could easily lose at least one more game (Vanderbilt/Florida), and, in contrast, if Alabama beats LSU, it is smooth sailing to the end of the regular season.

In terms of the Big 12, the only way to get 2 games in after last weekend would be for someone to upset BYU in the conference title game and be BYU's only loss, and the latter isn't guaranteed with Arizona State and Houston remaining on the regular season schedule.

Same old same old:
The ESPN Blue Blood Invitational is a joke and will remain one until all conferences ard treated equally, with none getting guaranteed terms in besides the champ.

An 11-1 Indiana team would deserve to be in the 12 team playoff. And frankly, even though they are from a power conference, I would enjoy having a fresh face in the mix. That is hopefully what the expanded playoff provides.

A 10-2 Penn State team is more debatable. Depends on who else is in that 9-12 range.

Agreed.

My dream playoff scenario has Bama, Georgia, OSU, & the rest of the blue bloods left out altogether or relegated to the bottom tier.

Ideally, no one gets a bye and no one advanced without winning in the field. That's why it should be 8 or 16 teams. The committee must go: it is too corrupt and all too often makes poor decisions for the wrong reasons. Their lame excuses make that clear.
