Looks like SMU is the better team. They would make a great bowl matchup!

Ole Miss will move up the most. ISU, Pitt, and Clemson will fallout. Miami should fall far, like behind SMU far. They'll try to make ACC and Big12 one trick ponies. Big12 needs BYU to win out and lose to either Colorado or KSU who also win out to get 2 teams. Not impossible but unlikely.

For ultimate chaos. Georgia and Bama need another loss. UGA is playing like that will come. Army needs to win out and upset ND. Boise St needs to win out. Indiana needs to beat OSU and then lose to rival Purdue. All very unlikely but this season has been fun and full of chaos so far.

I had my doubts about LSU being a power again. Their loss seems to confirm that. Once again, the are ranked too high because of past years instead of 2024. Another SEC mediocrity that is underperforming compared to expectations.

I am not convinced Texas can win on the road against Arkansas And A&M. SEC is still up for grabs.

BYU is lucky Utah just didn't feel like winning yesterday.

Oregon won't be tested again until the conference champ game. Unless that is Indiana. Have to wait 2 weeks to see who Indiana really is. It's very possible that only 1 of Indiana's 12 opponents will play in a bowl game.

This season is Awesome!
Let’s Go!

Missouri, South Carolina, and LSU should not be ranked. Same old story of inflating SEC school resumes

It helps the B1G when there have been only 2 matchups between their top 4 teams, with only one more on the schedule.

SECSECSEC has 4 great teams, 4 good-but-not-great (Ole Miss, Aggy, LSU, Mizzou), 2 pretty good (SC, Vandy), 2 ok but not great (Arky, OU) and 4 also rans (Fla, UK, Auburn, MissSt)

B1G has 4 great teams, 1 good but not great (Wiscy), a whole bunch of ok but not great (USC, UCLA, Wash, Iowa, Minn, Neb, NW, Illinois, Mich, MichSt, Rutgers, Maryland) and one really, really bad (Purdue).

Same old crap: lame excuses for ranking SEC teams higher than they deserve while not applying the standards equally.

Penn St at 4 is atrocious. No one in their right mind believes that. Jane's Franklin simply can't win big games. He's being rewarded for beating nothing but scrubs.
ND in just sets the precedent that they can schedule 12 cupcakes and get in eveb with a horrific loss.

If Georgia has not earned a spot, definitely leave them out! Same with Bama and every other SEC and Big 10 team. That would make it a real playoff system instead of a fake one: the ESPN Blue Blood Invitational.

Right now Ole Miss has a better record & deserves to get in more than Georgia does. They beat Georgia! But that is their only significant victory. There are other teams that should be in before Ole Miss.

This late in the season, every undefeated team should be in the playoffs before teams with lesser records, simply because it's so difficult to achieve that regardless of schedule. I say this although Indiana & Army, for example, don't have any "great" wins. BYU should be in even if they lose in Arlington (assuming they win the next 3).

The problem with all these rankings is that it's so subjective and it's impossible to remove all biases.

There are plenty of teams that deserve to be in the playoffs before ND. I would even include Texas. Funny that their arguably best win is over Vandy!

The ESPN Blue Blood Invitational is a joke and will remain one until all conferences ard treated equally, with none getting guaranteed terms in besides the champ.
To be fair, have you reviewed ISU's, Colorado's, and Arizona State's resumes? Whew there is a lot of garbage there.

There's a lot of Garbage on NDs resume. I mean look at the resume if PSU and Indiana… neither have beaten anyone with a pulse.
Indianas SOS is sub 100! That's a 2-3 loss team if they had played teams with pulses. I said it before and I'll say it again. If/when they get bulldozed in Columbus they should be out

So more than half the SEC is in the top 25? Including a 3 loss LSU team that lost to god awful USC and just got their doors blown off at home?

True. There are a lot of garbage resumes in every P5 conference. That's the dads every year Butbut dermis more pronounced in 2024.

The ESPN Blue Blood Invitational will always favor the SEC, elevating teams unworthy of it.
