The SEC is a great conference...the narrative that they are CLEARLY the best and deserve every benefit of the doubt needs to die

The byes/seeding manipulation will be changed as soon as next season.

Texas will play its semifinal game with a home crowd in Dallas.

Has a team ever had everything go their way like this in a single year?
Easiest SEC schedule, key players out for opponents, 2nd easiest playoff road, now a semifinal game in Dallas?? Wow.
The @rosebowlgame should absolutely be the National Championship every year

I must say it is interesting that the fall of the SECβs dominance, the fall of Alabama, and Georgia coming back to normal all happened as soon as every team could start legally paying players.

Under the BCS format, the national championship game would have been Georgia vs Oregon.

Those two teams lost their playoff games by a combined 33 points.

Content of one's character and their abilities/expertise/performance should trump skin color and/or other unrelated personal attributes when discussing these types of things, but every ceiling shattered and milestone reached by a minority gets us closer to that being reality. When seeing the best of all demographics reach the highest levels of their vocation becomes commonplace, the discussion moves to expertise/performance rather than the novelty or rarity of that occurrence.PaperBear89 said:boognish_bear said:Marcus Freeman after the Sugar Bowl about being one of two Black coaches competing in the Orange Bowl semifinal:

Agree with the sentiment, but another feather in Freeman's cap, I would think, is that he is the first Asian coach to make it this far. (mother is Korean)
This is extremely bad journalism by Ross, completely taking out of content of what Marcus Freeman actually said, where he did in fact acknowledge the significance:

Someone tweeted last night that Notre Dame is much easier to root for now with Freeman as their coach than they were with Brian Kelly. And I could not possibly agree more. Freeman seems like an awesome dude and a great coach. I'd like to see them win it all at this point.boognish_bear said:
