Oof damn, shades of Chip Brown tanking the Saban-to-UT deal by leaking the story about Miss Terry being seen house shopping in Austin…

Why?

Perhaps he is tired of Alabama fans? They were spoiled by Saban and forgot he lost games. They act like every year was undefeated and a NC. Every loss he has they are upset and call for his job. Especially after Vandy last year.

Although not sure it will be much different at Penn State. But maybe they have more NIL funds?

Florida is no longer in running for Kiffin.

Down to Ole Miss or LSU. Or possibly Bama?

Glad to see him stick with a smaller program… Hopefully they can continue to hang onto him.

Wonder if Jerry Kill will stick around?

Clark Lea is a boss but his convincing Jerry Kill to come on board was the best decision he's made at Vandy. Kill is an underrated ace

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Lane Kiffin saga is finally coming to an end.

Sources told ESPN on Saturday that the expectation is LSU will hire Kiffin away from Ole Miss on Sunday. A source cautioned that the deal was not signed as of late Saturday but added that it "would be a shock" if he didn't sign it.

Should Kiffin agree to the contract, it will pay him, a source said, around $12 million annually across seven seasons, with the potential for bonuses, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the sport.

Kiffin, 50, and the Rebels just wrapped up an 11-1 regular season with a 38-19 win over rival Mississippi State, all but assuring them a berth in the 12-team College Football Playoff. That said, the expectation among Ole Miss officials is that Kiffin will not coach the Rebels in the CFP, barring an unexpected change.

Sources told ESPN's Marty Smith on Sunday that Kiffin will hold a 10 a.m. ET meeting with Ole Miss players, followed by an announcement about his future.

Lane is gone, just trying to convince Ole Miss to let him coach the playoffs.

Sumrall and Golesh next dominoes to fall. Someone in this game is left standing up in musical chairs with no obvious great coach hire left and a fan base that will lose its mind when they hire washed up NFL coach

According to NBC Sports among other outlets, Kiffin wants to coach the playoff and is threatening to basically just take his staff to LSU and leave Ole Miss with no coaches if they don't let him coach.

Ole Miss understandably doesn't want him raiding the entire roster before the portal and view any playoff success he'd have as free LSU recruiting fodder not benefiting Ole Miss

Kiffin is a ******. Always has been. always will be. He's going to fail at LSU (relative to their expectations) and it's going to be hilarious to watch

Lane had gone a long way toward rehabbing his bad reputation as a person. Waiting to see if the rumors actually pan out, but there seems to be potential to proving he's still a jerkwad.

Stanford voluntarily stayed standing up with their hire. Gave others a chance.

He seems to be undoing that re hab either way he goes. But I assume the LSU search is over. Kiffin is just playing games with Ole Miss to get attention.

As to Arkansas I have to think they actually have the Memphis HC ready to be announced. As I have said, all the announcements coming this weekend have all probably been announcement ready for almost a month.

Sources: Florida set to hire Tulane coach Jon Sumrall

Tulane coach Jon Sumrall is set to be Florida's new coach.
Sources told Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger that Florida is expecting Sumrall to accept the school's job offer to officially replace Billy Napier.

The Gators are looking to hire Sumrall after moving on from their pursuit of Lane Kiffin. Florida had viewed Kiffin as its top candidate, but as it became clear that Kiffin's top two options were staying at Ole Miss or going to LSU, the Gators looked at other options.

So where are we right now...

Tulane's HC -> Florida
USF's HC -> Auburn
Memphis HC -> Arkansas
UNT HC -> Oklahoma State
Stanford fills with an internal hire.

Cal, LSU, Penn State, UCLA(?) still open.

Then whoever has their coach hired away is going to soak up all the promising candidates this year...leaving Baylor looking at a talent desert next year. Thanks Linda!

Given what is going on in Boulder, a window of opportunity has opened for the Rams...if they can seize it.

A fitting end to this would be if LSU pulls its offer, Ole Miss gets rid of him, and he ends up at Tulane.

I mean, he wanted to go to Louisiana...

If true, he is screwing Ole Miss for the play offs. LSU might just cut to the chase and go ahead do what they will do in a couple of years anyway, fire him on the tarmac.

An 11-1 SEC college football playoff bound team should not be having to deal with this level of BS from its head coach... I can't imagine the parents of some of these kids right now.. no chance many follow him if he leaves.. lack of empathy & character throughout the entire time

The leashes are much shorter now. You no longer need 4 years to rebuild a program with the transfer portal

Every other program in the country realizes this but ours
