And nobody has ever had a tougher rebuild than Briles had at Baylor. It was viewed as the worst job in college football for 20 years until the practice facility and stadium got built. That's not even in question. But this isn't about football. It's about Patterson being a lying duplicitous scumbag. Which he is.
Baylor was not the worst job in college football for 20 years! Not even in question? Over those seasons there were a number of schools that went 0-11 more than once and still are considered patsies.
If Patterson had taken the Baylor job (he turned us down) and turned us around and was still here, you guys would be busting your knee caps defending him. THAT is what is not even in question!!
Nah man. Yer just flat out wrong. Baylor was the worst job in football over a long period of time. I guess you could say tied for last over that span. Worst facilities, small school, probably the most difficult conference at the time and then having to sell kids on the Baptist religion with stupid BS like a no dancing policy in of all places Waco, TX. Yeah definitely worst job in football for a long time.
And the only person defending somebody who let's kids start up drug rings, yells at doctors for pulling kids off the field with concussions and advocates for accused insane rapists to stay eligible is you pal. And again that's what this thread is about. Gary Patterson being a gluttonous amoral sack of human excrement. Which he is.
Dude! Take off the blinders, unglue your lips and get off your crusty knees.
We were the worst in the Big 12 facility race back when it was first formed when teams like Nebraska, A&M, Colorado & Missouri were in. Kids have looked past facilities for years now. They are much more interested in TV exposure, coaching to a potential NFL career, and prestige. The Big 12 used to be a much stronger conference. With each successive year the Big 12 gets weaker and weaker.
Small school? That dog won't hunt. We are twice as big as the last time Baylor went through conference play undefeated.
Dancing? Seriously? That was an issue maybe back when Jimmy Carter was President. Disco dancing by Penland Boys was rampant!!
Baptist religion? That dog won't hunt. Baylor is less Baptist today than it ever has been. In our quest for $$$ we have thrown the doors open for even atheists.
Finally, your description of Briles in your last paragraph is sad.
