Status of Texas Tech starting QB McLane Carter uncertain for Week 2
For the second straight week, Texas Tech's starting quarterback situation is unclear heading into a game.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said during Monday's Big 12 coaches teleconference that McLane Carter's status is uncertain for Saturday's game against Lamar after he suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season-opening loss to Ole Miss.
Kingsbury said the team will use the next couple of days to evaluate him.
Freshman Alan Bowman replaced him against the Rebels and completed 29 of 49 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown.
Kingsbury opted for Bowman over sophomore Jett Duffey, who was once expected to be a frontrunner for the starting job.
After the Week 1 loss, Kingsbury said both Bowman and Duffey would get "a ton of reps this week."
Iowa State's opponent on Saturday? Iowa.Quote:
"We're all in agreement that the suspensions were served tonight," Pollard said, adding that he deliberated with President Wendy Wintersteen and faculty athletics representative Tim Day. "It's not the student-athletes' fault that the game couldn't be (played) for weather."

You know things are bad when the University Pres has to make a comment on a loss. Feel bad for Beaty, but it feels like he's already gone and it's only a matter of time until it's official.

Yes, the one about the KU loss to Nichols.
For the most part it looks like they did a survey of what Baylor did the last 10 years and said hey AD copy that.BiPolarBear said:

K-State athletics unveils plans for $230 million in facility upgrades
MANHATTAN
The Kansas State athletic department unveiled plans for $230 million worth of facility upgrades on Friday.
The upgrades are part of athletic director Gene Taylor's master plan for facility improvements, which aims to renovate current athletic structures across K-State athletics, such as Bramlage Coliseum, and build new facilities for teams that require them, like volleyball.
Here are the highlights of the master plan:
- $85 million worth of renovations for Bramlage Coliseum.
- $29 million for renovations behind the south end zone at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
- $24.45 million for a new indoor football practice facility, which will be built on the east side of the football stadium and eliminate roughly 400 parking spots. An additional outdoor football practice field will be built north of the indoor facility.
- $17.5 million for a new volleyball arena.
- $14.5 million for a new indoor tennis center or $5.5 million for a soccer practice pavilion.
- $13 million for a new Olympic performance training facility.
- $12.5 million for an indoor track complex.
- $4.5 million in upgrades at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

With the exception of the "indoor track facility" that is. Should building an Indoor Track be a priority for Mack Rhodes over renovating Ferrell?

Houston Won't Let Texas Tech Wear White Uniforms For The 'Celebrate Cotton' Game
No reason is given in the announcement of this decision, but Houston will not allow Texas Tech to wear white uniforms in the Celebrate Cotton game on Saturday in Lubbock.
Looks like #TexasTech won't be wearing white for this week's Celebrate Cotton game, as the Red Raiders normally do for that promotion. U of H wouldn't agree to it, according to a source.

The game is a celebration of the High Plains cotton industry and bears many other references to the fluffy staple fiber, including cotton bales and cotton facts and cotton T-shirts given away. It's a big ol' cotton party, and generally the road team wears white in this matchup.
Last year, visiting Texas Tech wore white. This year, Texas Tech is the home team, and wanted to wear white again. That's allowed, so long as the other team agrees to it. But Houston said no.

This could be the biggest act of pettiness in college football this year, or it could have been some kind of communication mixup.
The NCAA states that the home team may wear white at home, but the home team (Texas Tech) needs to get written agreement from the visiting team (Houston) before the season starts.
