Sorry Canadian didn't do his job and was too weak to handle Fake Art. Starr was asleep at the wheel while the regents enjoyed being members of an exclusive Baptist Country Club (all set up to keep the nuts from taking over the school with the fundamentalists).

Oklahoma regents let Boren do what he wished and finally figured out too late that he was killing the school with his financial decisions.

OU is going to look terrible once it is released they cheated on US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT'S data.

Valid point, here, but I'm not sure. The 90's were bad years for Okie U. They needed cash and they burned through more than a few mid size scandals. Granted, I don't think they'll screw it up like our regents, but Ou won't be able to fix their finances overnight and the medicine they'll need to take to right their ship will be costly. Boren's spending put them on a disaster course.

Update: Okie's own regents are investigating Boren, it's not initiated by Gallogly as Boren has tried to spin.

FYI, I think a LOT of universities lie to U.S. News. There is simply too much financial incentive. It is my understanding that A&M lied on their graduate forms about the number of applications to make A&M look more selective and was confronted about it by other universities.

Oklahoma isn't using Jones Day as much to have an independent investigator as it is to hide behind attorney client privilege. They are in bunker mode trying to figure out how to put all of the blame on people outside their board. Pure and simple. Thus the meeting. Someone came forward claiming to have been sexually harassed by David Boren. That person covered their tracks and made a claim that is difficult to refute and documented it. Problem is, now they have to make a reasonable attempt to disprove that it wasn't a pattern. And there lies the problem. Boren had a system. And if it goes worldwide, then you'll have others that step forward and corroborate it.

They may be able to bury it, but I doubt it. I think they are preparing to get their asses kicked.

Note: My source isn't 100% certain on the identity of the person, so I could end up taking this down, but my confidence level is greater than 50% that this is correct.
