maybe the assistants are what we're pulling in these recruits. I think she was close to the one that went ti San Jose. I mean we were a final two so maybe.

Gonna be tough with South Carolina. We have the PT pitch, and be the best player on the team pitch.

and we got two players in the top 10 in the draft, we have a coach that was in the WNBA, and like you said you will be a top player. I think what we want to run is perfect because she can play 1-4 she can shoot from everywhere on the court.

Blackwell is the real deal, and Lattimore from Texas is going to be a nice addition for someone. I think she is very underrated. Hope she interested in Baylor.

Lattimore had visited Baylor, had pics taken with the Nattys. Then she goes to ut and has pic taken with shoes. She chose ut. Noticed she wore a brace on one knee.

We may or may not be Aijha's choice but no one will outwork CNC on the recruiting trail!

I'm actually shocked Baylor was included... Just heard yesterday that she was down to ole miss and South Carolina. I had no clue about Baylor. I am excited but not gonna get my hopes up because SC is a hard draw and ole miss is a big lean for one of the maryland girls and just got an Arky transfer . Does SC even have space ? I would love to have Blackwell. This would be a huge addition. Come on CNC work your magic.

Hmmm... so I seen yesterday she was down the SC and Ole Miss for her final two . This new information has me wondering if Baylor was added, already pulled off the list before the source posted, or Baylor was simply not mention ed.

Both ole miss and SC make me nervous. Their recuriting is on a hot trail. Alot of players seem to like both coaches. SC leads the nation in attendance, so if she is looking for a packed house they are were she would end up. I hope CNC and staff showed her the real deal.

A fact to ponder for recruiting head-to-head competition ...

April 18, 2018
"Newly-hired Ole Miss women's basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has added Toledo's Tony Greene as the first new member of her coaching staff.

Greene spent the last three seasons on staff at Toledo, and has more than 20 years of experience as a collegiate coach with stops at Texas Southern, Grambling State and Langston along the way.

'I am so happy to have Tony join us here at Ole Miss,' McPhee-McCuin said. 'When looking for pieces to fit my staff, it was imperative that I found someone with certain qualities: a winner, an impeccable work ethic and drive, and a person of great character. Tony checked all of these boxes, and more. He is exactly the type of guy that I want representing Ole Miss Women's Basketball.' "

Thanks slime, but I'm referring to the hot trail as in current 21-22, and upcoming 22-23 . Tony green was at Marquette last year.

Good morning Wbbfan29,
I posted this information from a marketing perspective
These 2 recruiters worked together for 2 years.
They know each other very well and how each other will recruit.
For me, their background adds an interesting spin to the recruitment battle.

That's true, I hope the addition of Chole really helps Baylor with the edge over bigger schools. Players really like her social media presence and skits. One thing I do like about CNC is that she want everyone to be involved.

Well, well, well.....there really IS something going on at Texas.....

This is about more than clearing space for transfers, this may be a sign that the assistants were the glue to that team from blowing apart with Vic's mood swings.

One year left, how do you spend it? WNBA prep and pursuing another B12 title or running with the Gamecocks with NO guarantee of a Natty? Hope she talks to NaLyssa and asks lots of questions. I believe CNC can expand her (Blackwell) game more than Dawn Staley.

Although I have a feeling it will be Ole Miss, I really hope she consider expanding her game with Baylor at least earning a conference championship.

Coach Nicki already has a Guard go to the draft top two and two different styles of post players. All of her seniors went. I think she really knows how to get them ready for their dreams and i don't know if anyone can deny that. Yes these weren't her recruits but she treated them as such and in one year we saw a lot of growth from both Lyss and Queen. Jordan was a blessing for baylor that she even wanted to stay. We have the new NIL that makes our athletes focus on school and basketball if they perform well in both they could make some good money at our university. It helps with the mission all the sports have and it is person over player and i definitely think Coach Nicki takes that serious. She needs to let these recruits talk to Bickle cause she was there for a natty and now this change has helped her grow as a more confident basketball player and person and you can see it just from the press conferences. I think she will do great things here if we give her the time and the support!!

Ok I get we're all Baylor fans here, and want her at Baylor, but yall gotta stop the disrespect of the Gamecocks lol.

They could very well repeat easily, with or without her.

I hope CNC can get it done, but this is a steep battle.

Nonetheless, these are the recruiting battles that can take the program to the next level.

Who was disrespecting the gamecocks? With the exception of maybe 2 people no one has said anything bad. He said no guarantee of national championship. Which is true. I don't think that is disrespectful. Alot of people know that the game cocks are good. My only question was how many scholarships do they have available.

Gamecocks are great let's see if they can win this next season we have seen in the past when the stars win junior year they fail senior year. We have seen it first hand. Nothing is for a given in this game of Basketball. So we will go on and play. If we get the right pieces we could very well be a contender for the title as well

Exactly. There was no disrespect there, just the comment that there is no guarantee you are going to win a Natty every year. Geno's run was impressive but he will be the first to tell you it is getting harder and harder to win the NC EVERY year especially with the parity that is happening. I never made a single negative comment towards SC.

My comment was specifically in Ms. Blackwell's case in which I asked the question of "what is she looking for in her transfer?" I am certain she will be drafted and so she has to ask herself what she really wants out of this year that she is transferring. If she wants to prep for the WNBA and help BU win another B12 title, why not transfer to a team that has a former WNBA coach and is using concepts that prep you for the WNBA and that pro scouts may value her opinion seeing how she has coached at the highest level.

No, you have to play it both ways. We just got knocked out the 2nd week of March Madness, Gamecocks proved what they could do.

NC is not on the level of Dawn (just yet). A Big 12 Title is not guaranteed. We knew Smith and Queen would be drafted. SC has put girls in the pros as well.

Gotta respect that the momentum is in their hands, after coming off a NC.

For players like this, you simply make room.

My point is that, although we are fans of BAYLOR, we can't just underestimate the fact that, whatever NC can do DAWN can too, and probably to a higher extent at this point of their careers.

throwing this WNBA coach thing around as if Dawn couldn't be one is kinda laughable. They all have connections, and preparations on how to make this young lady successful.

Hell, neither Baylor or SC may get her lol.

We just have to stop jumping NC over these well respected coaches and programs as if her accolades and achievements are highly above some of the top coaches in the game.

You are totally reading into this on your own. Did I EVER say Dawn couldn't coach in the WNBA? NO !! Could Dawn coach in the WNBA? Yes but, she hasn't.

And YES, while SC is most likely a heavy favorite to get to the FF this year again (please twist that into some kind of "I'm being disrespectful comment") they have shown like every other team (including us) that they are beatable.

Again, I believe you have missed the entire point of my comments in that I am wondering what Blackwell is looking for in a basketball program that is going to further her development? I am playing devil's advocate in obviously leaning toward our program but somehow am being accused of being disrespectful toward Dawn and SC??

I would ask you to review my posts again and tell me where the disrespect is in there. Where did I say SC had NO chance of winning the NC? Where did I say Dawn couldn't be a WNBA coach ? ( I will even give her praise for being the USA BB coach).

I suppose we will all find out soon enough where Ms. Blackwell goes and from there, we can move forward.

As the first and last part of my posts stated.

It's great that Smith and Queen went drafted Top 10, it was expected. Looks really good for Baylor as a whole. Once again, those two were always going to get drafted high, no it's not a knock on NC, she continued the success.

My point came from the "Come here and pursue another Big 12 title and get to the WNBA by being coached by an ex WNBA coach or run with the Gamecocks with no guarantee of a title ".

Hell, none of those are guaranteed from both sides, but with them being the retaining champs, we have to acknowledge the fact that they have the upper hand. Dawn is no slouch, she will shine on whatever team she goes to.

I alluded to the fact that the PT, and being considered the best player on the team is greater at Baylor.

Disrespect may had not been the best word of choice, but you have to lay it all out there on what each team can offer
Wbbfan29

No one said anything about dawn . Yes , you are right, nothing is written in stone. South Carolina was ranked #1 all season long... Nobody doubted dawn or her team. They were great and very balanced. I didn't see Dr.J post as attacking SC but just wishful thinking that she should come to Baylor. No one is discredited SC or their Championship. They deserve it. They were the best team all year long. Yes we got kicked out the second round but a post about a transfer should have anything to do with what happend in the past. He was just referencing about getting experience from a coach that coached in the W. Everybody has their own coaching book. You cant compare CNC to veteran coaches with multiple championship ( for some reason people on the site have been doing it all year). I honestly think he meant no harm.

I meant no harm as well. Just saying, we have to take the Baylor glasses off at times and understand just because NC was a past WNBA coach, does not mean her accomplishments, accolades, and overall ability to get these gurls to the next level is better than the likes of a Top 2 coach in Women's College basketball.

As i said, winning this recruiting battle against the defending champs, and Ole Miss will show a lot. I have faith that she can pull it off. We're all on the same side here

Do you have any insight here (or heard solid sourced rumors) as to the why? The coaches I understand as most of them went upward. The seniors seemed to know they weren't going to have another year, as they all did senior day and made comments in postgame media. No Ill will directed their way, just simply curious.
