I still hope to see her shoot them more confidently and consistently in games, but that is me. And I am thrilled and excited to hear we will be a faster team on the court, though, my gosh, we were pretty darn quick before! I rewatch the Final Four games (really, all the tourney games + UConn) during the days when I am able, and it really amazes me every time to hear Kara Lawson in the Oregon game comment on how the fast pace favors Oregon. Oregon may have WANTED a fast pace, but I don't think it favored them. I think in the ND game, Lobo makes a similar comment about the quick transition play supposedly favoring the Irish, but it being BU surprisingly winning that battle. And both those commentators had seen us play earlier. Maybe I was biased, but I thought we were a pretty quick team up and down the court. If we are even quicker, they better ice down the court, 'cause the floorboards are going to melt, and I like it!
I am posting this in reply to you, but maybe should address it to everyone. I am a fan of women's basketball. As a young girl, it was one of the few activities where I felt like I belonged. I loved it enough, I got a degree that would allow me to coach it, because I wanted to stay involved with it. But I played just as Title IX came into being, and the HS competition in basketball was not UIL. It was more like a club sport, and for me that was a good thing. No way on God's green Earth I could have played at anything approaching the level these young women do.
They are amazing, and I am, rightly, in awe of them. As a fan, there are times I shoot my mouth off (or in this age of social media, post something) out of frustration or just the arrogance that armchair fans sometimes have. I think sometimes my coaching background makes me see things from a more critical viewpoint, always looking for that little thing that can be improved upon. But generally, this is my team and I love it and these young women who give their all in front of thousands of fans like me have more dedication, courage, endurance and skill than I can even imagine. I respect the heck out of them and root as hard for them to be as successful off the court as I root for them on the court (and those who sit around me can tell you that's pretty darn hard!)
I appreciate any conversation about women's basketball (I remember going to WBB games at HOT and there being about 50 fans in the stands), and don't mind being told respectfully that I'm wrong, and if I ever get too much out of line, let me know, and I'll give myself a time out from posting. I've done that before when I have realized I really shouldn't have posted something that I did.
Have enjoyed watching your sister and DiDi and all the rest play, and I thank them for the gift they give me! Looking forward to a great (and VERY SPEEDY year!). SIC'EM

How do our bigs do at this warp speed.? Pretty sure Nalysssa and Queen can play at this speed. How do LC and Erin do? I imagine Lauren is great at outlet passes here?

Remember the U Conn game where Lauren ran Napheesa Collier down when she fouled Lauren stealing the ball and tried to fast break for the U Conn basket. Lauren was called for a foul because for some reason she went for a block with her right hand instead of her left but point is Collier has WNBA speed and Lauren ran her down.
I have been saying on several different postings here on sicem 365 that our team speed this season will be something special.
Dcheetah is right: We knew Moon had good wheels and Cooper has that rep as well but to see them together on the court flying around at warp speed (I like that description) got my attention as well.
Landrum has the most deceptive speed I have ever seen in the women's game - So effortless and smooth !! She covers more ground in one stride then most do in two !!
Yes Nalyssa and Queen can run close enough to that speed as can DiDi. Trinity looks capable to matching the speedsters without that brace, I have not actually seen Oliver cut loose yet but she has that rep. Catlin looks a lot faster without her brace.
I see a lot more fast breaks this year.

I did mention Bickle but you are right I forgot DeCosta - How I just cant explain - she is the one I am most looking forward to seeing the improvement of her game. I left Erin off but her value will be in initiating the fast break with a defensive rebound.
JMO, but Didi doesn't have to have any 3-pointers if she can knock down a fair percentage of 10-12 footers like Chloe did last season. At Didi's height and with her high release, she's not going to have many of those blocked. Hitting 40% on the 10-12 footers could really open up the middle.

If we are talking fast we definitely should not forget DeCosta. She had the top times in the 100, 200 and 400 meters in the Sacramento Area for middle school'ers in 2014. She still holds the all time best time for the 100 meters . Those were her last track events before she quit to focus entirely on basketball. She probably could have gotten a track scholarship if she had decided to go in that direction. The Sacramento Area is second only to the Los Angeles area in respect to track talent in California.

My mother was the biggest basketball fan I've ever known. She encouraged me to play, even though I was only an average player (boys' basketball). She played HS ball in the late 1940s / early 1950s when there were six players on the court per team and IIRC they had to wear skirts to play (this was in rural West Tennessee). She was recognized as an All-Star player back then. She absolutely loved Pat Summitt, because she saw so many similarities in their upbringing. She was a big Tennessee and Memphis fan, but when older she used to have me come over to her house if necessary to tune in Baylor WBB games. She's no longer with us, but I hope that she and Pat Summitt are watching Baylor and Tennessee games together and talking about which girls need to be meaner (she used to tell my sister that she needed to take "mean pills" to play better. Yep. She's looking good!
We may have lost three very good (even great) players during the off season, but those we still have are better. I am amazed at how noticeably better some of them are in just a few games. To me, DiDi seems to have improved significantly but also Egbo & Bicklin. We should have another great year!
