Fury should be 2-0 against this guy. Guess he didnt want to leave this one to the judges.

Been many a year since I've seen a towel thrown in by a guys corner to end the fight

I liked the entrances more than the fight.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

The third fight between heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and former titlist Deontay Wilder is still on track to be their next bout, but it will not take place on July 18 as originally planned due to the coronavirus pandemic, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum told ESPN on Tuesday.

After Fury knocked out Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch on Feb. 22 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Wilder exercised his contractual right to an immediate third fight.

Arum, Fury's co-promoter with Frank Warren, said the bout would be July 18, also at the MGM Grand, and that it would headline another joint pay-per-view between ESPN, Fury's broadcaster, and Fox, a broadcast outlet for Premier Boxing Champions, which represents Wilder.

However, with the coronavirus situation so fluid, Arum told ESPN that they instead would look toward the fall to schedule the bout.

"Clearly not," Arum said of the bout being on July 18. "We don't even know if the MGM will even be open by then."

Fury's going to win again.

I hope the Khabib-Ferguson fight still happens. Khabib probably wins.

Tonight at 9ct on VICE is the story of when the WWF tried to have their wrestlers get into a real competition fight called the Brawl For All in 1998. Punches and takedowns were allowed but nothing else.

Ken Shamrock was in the WWF at the time but people thought it would be unfair to have someone like him compete so he did not participate.

A martial artist named Steve Blackman was in the WWF at that time and won his first fight against a former New York Golden Gloves champion Marc Mero. Blackman accidentally ruined an opportunity for him to have more of an advantage when the producers for this event were considering allowing leg kicks. Blackman was brought in to demonstrate to the other wrestlers what that would look like since he had Muy Thai training. He kicked a pad so hard that the other wrestlers freaked out and wouldn't agree to allowing leg kicks. Unfortunately after his first win he injured his knee training for the next fight.

Bart Gunn ended up being the winner of the Brawl For All. A good ole country boy with a sledgehammer for a left hand knocked out 3 other wrestlers on his way to becoming champion. Unfortunately his consolation prize was to fight Butterbean. He got knocked out in under 30 seconds.

Ken Shamrock said the only guy he felt could possibly give him trouble in a real fight was Steve blackman.

Butterbean was a unique fighter. His sheer size would preclude some folks from beating him

Yeah it was terrible for them to put the winner of that against butterbean. I would have put my money on Steve Blackman knowing what I know now of each guys abilities. He was the only one who trained like an MMA fighter.

I have heard stories about a wrestler called Haku. He was renowned for being arguably the toughest man to ever be a professional wrestler. Ken Shamrock said he doesn't know how well haku would have done in an mma fight but said he would not want to fight him in a street fight.
Of all the videos I've seen of other wrestlers talk about him I dont think he would have fared well. As far as i know he had no jiu jitsu or amateur wrestling training. The only training i have heard that haku had was sumo and karate.
Nonetheless he apparently was freakishly strong and had some skill even though he's never fully explained what type of skill other than he was trained in Japan.

imaginary, make-believe, made-up, pretend wrestling wannabe-but-never-was actors on a real fighting thread where the guys are out to hurt each other badly each and every fight.

If you wanted me to talk about "martial arts" fighting populated my uneducated trailer garbage, scarcely qualified to operate an eggbeater, that get sent to jail for beating their pornstar girlfriends, I can switch back to that.

Damn dude chill. I brought up the wwf/wwe stuff. BTW Ken Shamrock - you know the guy who did the real fighting and also the fake wwf fighting said that professional wrestling is a much tougher life style. I can explain in detail what he means by that but I dont want to bore you with more professional wrestling stuff. Yes, I have somewhat of an understanding of how tough it is to put your body and health on the line in real fighting and the courage it takes to do that. Anyway, carry on.

There is no comparison to acting and getting in the ring with someone that wants to bring bodily harm to you. If you think there is, this is the wrong thread for you. You need to go to the one about 'which TV shows are you watching'

You're right. You think I dont understand that? I was just bringing up a situation that happened that involved professional wrestlers with real fighting because it was something that I was interested in and at least had something to do with real fighting. I'm sorry if I offended you with bringing up professional wrestling in any context in this thread.

There is also no comparison to fighting a few times a year compared to wrestling 250 times a year while being on the road 300 days a year for multiple years on end away from your wife/girlfriend and/or kids while having to travel by car hundreds of miles per week, every week, no matter how tired or beat up your body is and if you do get hurt you have to keep going.

If you're comparing one professional wrestling match to one professional mma fight you're right, there's no comparison. But when you compare the lifestyle (key word there is lifestyle) its tougher to be a professional wrestler than an mma fighter. Once again, ask Ken Shamrock or any other mma fighter who did professional wrestling for a number of years in a row. Ken was ready to get back into mma because the lifestyle of a professional wrestler was too tough for him mentally and physically.

You obviously have no respect for professional wrestling or even an average understanding of it to make those comparisons. If you knew how hard it was and the toll it takes on you physically mentally and emotionally, you wouldn't talk this way. I quoted Shamrock because he's the most well known guy I could think of that's done both, even though he only wrestled for 2 years in wwf. I've also gotten vibes from earlier conversations with you that you dont like him so thats cool too. I'm sure you dont like Brock Lesnar much either but he said he would rather do anything than wrestle the yearly full wwe schedule ever again which is why he went to the nfl and then to the ufc to get a break away from that schedule.

It's obvious to me now you are ignorant about professional wrestling and dont want to understand from preconceived notions you already had about it. That's cool.

I also understand you are very knowledgeable about mma fighting and the toll that takes on someone as well.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

Shamrock did that because he wanted a wrestling career AFTER he wasnt able to beat anyone in the ring. If you think for a second that wrestling is real, you need to go look at REAL wrestling - aka, the college level. Its pretty boring unless you know what they are doing, much like a typical Brazilian JJ match. Pro wrestling has nothing to do with fighting.

BTW - I worked with Bruiser Brody, all the Von Erichs, King Kong Bundy and a ton of other folks. They would be the first to tell you that the better man seldom won the match because they were told ahead of time

Its all about finding gullible people that believe the stuff is real

Its pretty boring unless you know what they are doing, much like a typical Brazilian JJ match. Pro wrestling has nothing to do with fighting.

BTW - I worked with Bruiser Brody, all the Von Erichs, King Kong Bundy and a ton of other folks. They would be the first to tell you that the better man seldom won the match because they were told ahead of time

Good lord man you missed the point entirely. I never said pro wrestling was real. Just the full time lifestyle was tougher as said by: Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and even olympic gold amateur wrestling champion Kurt Angle. They would all agree and admit to you that its choreographed fights. It doesn't mean the pain isn't real or the endless miles aren't real. If you asked Kurt Angle how fake pro wrestling is you might be surprised by his answer as far as the pain is concerned. Ask any of them about that too.

Whatever. I'm done. Back to real fighting talk.

I dont recognize that name. Was he a UFC fighter or maybe Bellator as I know you are not talking fake,
imaginary, make-believe, made-up, pretend wrestling wannabe-but-never-was actors on a real fighting thread where the guys are out to hurt each other badly each and every fight.

UFC or Bellator?

Please! lets compare a traveling shoe salesman to UFC then. Lets compare the actors in a traveling Broadway play to Bellator

You are literally comparing actors in pre-determined tv shows with choreographed moves to folks that want to harm each other.

Stop it!

And please stop quoting Ken Shamrock. Everybody else stopped a decade ago.

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, who was scheduled to fight Uriah Hall at UFC 249 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

UFC immediately pulled Souza, 40, from the event, but it still plans on moving forward with the rest of the pay-per-view lineup. UFC said two of Souza's cornermen also tested positive.

"UFC's medical team examined Souza and his two cornermen and found them to be currently asymptomatic, or not exhibiting the common symptoms of COVID-19," the promotion said in a statement. "As per UFC's health and safety protocols, all three men have left the host hotel and will be self-isolating off premises, where UFC's medical team will monitor their conditions remotely and will provide assistance with any necessary treatment."

Dang, never seen a fight so dominated as Bryce Mitchell beating on Sam Rosa. That is some top level combat BJJ. Dang

30-27 is the standard for winning all three rounds. Usually you may dominate one round where the judges will only award the loser 8 which makes it 30-26. Two judges had it 30-25 and one judge had something I never heard before 30-24. DAMN!

btw - Rosa is a BJJ blackbelt to give you an idea of teh competition

Walt Harris fighting Overeen tonight on ESPN

The story on his daughter was horrible

Quote:

FC heavyweight Walt Harris feels like killing his daughter's murderer. Harris found himself in a dark place when he got the news of his stepdaughter's disappearance. On October 23, 2019, Aniah Blanchard, went missing in Alabama.

The news entered the national spotlight within a few days. Fellow fighters, fans, and even the President of the UFC extended their support to Harris and his family. Sadly, Blanchard's remains were found on November 25, 2019.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ibrahim Yazeed kidnapped her at a gas station. He then shot her before disposing of her body.

Walt Harris and his family are devastated

Harris was scheduled to fight Overeem in December. However, that bout was called off.

"I went through a dark, dark period as you know," Harris told reporters at a virtual UFC on ESPN 8 media day held on Thursday. "You could probably already imagine. I felt myself slipping in the opposite direction of what I set out to be as a man and as a father."

In a recent short documentary about Harris' road to recovery, he revealed that he felt like jumping over the banister and killing his daughter's killer while they were in court. However, he stopped himself because it wasn't about him but his daughter.

"I want to kill him. I'm going to be honest. It took everything I had in me not to jump over that banister," Harris said.
