Never underestimate the level of stupidity of prominent Leftists. As asinine as her words often are, along with everyone else in the Left, we usually have little reason to doubt that they believe those lies. They are morons. They demonstrate it with their actions and their words.

Biggest fraud of all being conducted by the American people. Rough estimates of fraudulent SS payments is somewhere around 250-300 Billion a year. LOL at 15+ million Americans over the age of 109.
Totally agree.

Somehow Musk needs to elimate these fraudulent SS payments.

Same with frauduleant disability payments.
Will be interesting to see how much is fraud and how much is a lack of reconciliation with death records. How many are going to accounts to nowhere or never leaving the Treasury. Anyone purposely committing fraud, sure prosecute.

What do you do with the 80 year old lady whose husband died and she just used the money? Lock her up?

People seem real quick to go to Fraud now days. Mother in Law in Hospice and meds were not available Sister in Law screaming about fraud. How about waiting to see if you get a credit or mistake was made. Doesn't she realize that when she goes back to COL these people will be the ones taking care of her mother? Sure bet being accused of fraud will endear her to the staff.

I would be fine with just stopping the payments (if they are still going out) and not prosecuting every single instance. If there are ones that are truly fraud then those should be prosecuted.

I am on the same page. Prosecuting some 85 year old widower trying to make ends meet not giving back dead husbands SS accomplishes nothing. I am more interested in systematic fraud and criminal fraud.

Curious to see breakdown

Reasonable decisions can be made. But the arguments on how to deal with the massive fraud and the trillions of dollars being stolen from American taxpayers need to be based on the law, not on hypothetical exceptions to the norm. The rule of law is still important. It's absence led to many of the problems that are now being exposed.

However, I think they will be a minuscule percentage of the fraud.

Yes! Idk why but I care about this one more than most people. I have brought it up several times on here, thinking it was a lost cause. I almost feel like congress needs to pass a law saying a foreigner can only own a relatively small single family house and that's it. Maybe not that restrictive, but I have no interest in our biggest enemy/rival controlling our food supply. That is insanely stupid.

It is going to be in the middle, an area a lot of people seem to hate here. Some will be getting checks because they did not report a death or conditions changed. Some will be like this, just on the rolls but getting no money. Finally, some will just be mistakes.

The Federal Budget is determined using year over year due to its size. A good zero base needs to happen to clean this stuff up. Actually, I would be in favor of a Law requiring a zero base budget done once a decade. I honestly believe you are going to find less bad actors than you guys think. Just a lot of bookkeeping clean ups, but because the budget is so huge it is a lot of money. A rounding error for a trillion dollar budget can be millions of dollars.

Want to balance the budget, stop the COVID type give aways that both Trump and Biden did. Stop the stupid programs.

Why are you so adamant that it has to be "evil" foul play? I don't get it. There are systematic changes that should occur no argument, but you seem to be mad if it isn't foul play and malicious Democrats. Why does it have to be the Dem's fault? You know **** happens that is not evil, just rounding error on rounding error over time.

I don't think i'm communicating to you correctly. On the administrative errors / bad bookkeeping, or outdated technology... Undoubtedly, there is a lot of that stuff and we can update it. They have said they are already updating it. And for little old ladies still collecting their dead husband's checks - I dont really care about. I have no idea how much that amounts to out of the total waste/fraud Trump is going to cut.

My points are that for the parts that are deep-state grifting and fraud - those are the ones we need to focus on and completely root out to fix this nation and our finances.

In short: I dont say all of it is evil foul play. Its just the part that is evil needs to be utterly rooted out.

It's really not that complex. All residential homes not owner occupied you tax the living day lights out of. I say that as someone capable of owning multiple homes. I know that won't be a popular opinion but the quickest way to get the foreign investment groups out is to limit their access or make them pay.

China bought up farmland and that's an issue but it's nowhere near the issue of large scale investment groups, almost exclusively of foreign origin, buying city blocks of residential homes. You can't have investment groups owning large swaths of homes. It drives up prices (a good thing for investors and even surrounding owners) but makes the barrier to entry far too high.

Idk - i kinda like mine better. No foreign entity or individual can own more than a single family house. Certainly not farmland.

I have always said, if someone is breaking the law they should be prosecuted. In this case, with the scale of what we are talking about let's say systematic fraud or scamming. (Just being pragmatic, even a small percent will generate big numbers).

Many of the Feds systems are ancient. Think about it, we cannot zero base budget the US budget. With all the computing power we have, we can't do that??? I think DOGE is doing a great job of highlighting this need. See the FAA Chair, he applauded it. He said maybe now we can get new systems that can handle the air traffic. That is telling.

The whole thing needs an overhaul. But let's be honest why. Not because of any boogie man or "deep state" but because we have failed to invest in the systems that we need to run this Nation, physically and financially. Look at Defense, the sacred cow, we are still working with airframe and weapons systems designed in the 70's and 80's. Bridges are horrible. Northeast Airports are like third world Nations, see Newark, Philly, and JFK. Invest in the Nation, not give away money.

That's problematic, if nothing else it's a version of a deed restriction that probably only works if the US government is willing to buy the land at the same value as a foreign entity or foreigner. You can see how easily that would be abused.

Do you know the size of the budget? I had an opportunity to sit down in USDOT and have lunch with someone that worked in "modes". Modes of Transportation. The deal with Air, Maritime, Rail, Roads, and many more subcatagories. Each was in the millions to hundreds of millions. They did not even break it down further than that. For each category is a State for each mode and all the facilities that make up thier transportation system. Think of Texas or Florida, they are each 1 of 50. Now think of taking that back to zero every year and having a new budget done in time to make Congress. This is one Dept. The scale of doing that is ridiculous, Carter learned that. We went through this with him. It will take one hell of an investment to get the capability to do that.

There are lots of stupid things that need to be stopped NOW. Thankfully, many are being exposed & are ending.

The accounting procedure to provide a code for every expenditure (where it is going) that was reportedly left blank quite often should be mandatory. No money goes out without that code. The purpose is to facilitate audits.

I think there need to be regular audits of every govt agency.
