Incredible piece of lawfare.

And folks who habitually vote Democrat wonder why their jobs are leaving the state and often the country.

This is a great point. And the Right is becoming the Left.

I listened to a great segment on Fox while driving from a Public Meeting on a new road about this.
Democratic Party in the majority of the 20th Century USED to be about, this is from an Old School Democrat.

"Why is Trump winning? He's stolen a lot of the ideas of, frankly, the old-school Democratic Party. He ran on things that, you know, 30 years ago would have been considered mainstream Democratic ideas, the idea of a strong border. The idea of, you know, the idea of elevating the working class.

The idea of tackling inflation, the idea of, you know, more isolationist policies like these were not traditional Republican policies.

They want a good life for themselves and their families."

I disagree with the term stolen. Trump is who Trump ALWAYS has been, a 1950's, NYC, Queens Democrat. The Democrat Party of my Grandfather (railroad engineer and TEAMSTER). The current Democratic Party is SO FAR LEFT that it is making the Old School Democrats look Republican.

Was thinking this AM about how the US used to be known as a land not just of plenty, but abundance. That was our mentality. The mentality totalitarianism always plots to inculcate is of lack, of scarcity. Ie, the government becomes the reference point of providence. Atheism is at the heart of that.

How many were still getting paid and how many were just names of dead people still on the roll? I hear SS had a 98.5% accuracy rate. Its good to get it cleaned up but names of long dead people not getting paid wont save anything. I noticed Elon stopped attaching numbers to many of the decisions he is making.

  • High Accuracy:
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a payment accuracy rate of over 99%, meaning that the vast majority of benefits are paid correctly.

  • Improper Payments:
While the accuracy rate is high, some improper payments do occur, accounting for less than 1% of total payments.

  • Causes of Improper Payments:
These improper payments are typically caused by mistakes or delays in the system, with overpayments to living beneficiaries being the most common type.

  • Overpayment Recovery:
The SSA is legally required to recoup overpayments, and they have various methods for doing so, including withholding future benefits.

  • Safeguards:
The SSA has many safeguards in place to prevent improper payments, including rigorous protocols to stop paying benefits to deceased individuals.

I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

so if he has bumped it up to 100% accuracy it will save taxpayers almost 72 billion S. Can you point to a link that says that?

The report you guided me to says there was 72,8 billion incorrectly paid and that most but not all were overpays.. Probably up to 99% correct.

Agree on 72 billion. If we can tighten it up, all for it.

Question on what is the acceptable standard for an agency doing its job correctly? 99% considered incompetent should be fire? Maybe the systems are antiquated and need to be updated? 99% accuracy does not sound like a job incompetency, do away with the Agency level issue. This sounds like a scale vs process issue. Nothing is 100% at that scale.

How about if the government agencies didn't hire a bunch of extra employees at taxpayer expense based upon illegal & unconstitutional identity politics criteria? Or maybe government agencies held to the same rules & standards as the average private businesses (not large corporations that pay off corrupt bureaucrats)? Or maybe a minimum level of competency so that govt employees do work that benefits the American people instead of only incompetent bureaucrats & corrupt politicians? Or govt agencies whose existence is supported by the constitution, including the 9th & 10th amendments? The list goes on.

It would be nice if govt agencies viewed their position as a sacred trust and focused on efficiency while looking for ways to root out waste & fraud. Instead they prove their uselessness regularly by promoting waste & fraud and screaming like stuck pigs when it is exposed and their scams are threatened. Ideally, every bureaucrat should be cheering on DOGE to make sure that their agency is going the most it can for the people and not wasting any of our money.

I know, I'm an idealist. The insane scams that have been exposed are a tiny fraction of what govt has done for decades.

You are not an idealist! Far from it. Ideal to you, which represents the far right of the Spectrum. Actually so far right if it was a circle you do things the same way as AOC...

The Government has responsibilities and requires staffing. The SS is a perfect example, it is operating at a 99% accuracy rate, higher than most business run, yet the antiquated equipment and under funding is creating a 1% error. Think of how many billions could have been saved if a ten million was used to update the equipment.

That is the issue, you guys are penny wise and pound foolish. If you want to save money, solve the problems don't just put on shows with no real outcomes. How much is it turning out that Musk is saving? Not the press release, the real dollars. Big difference.

Personally I have my doubts that it is operating at 99%. I have no proof of that, but I also can't prove that Oswald shot JFK. The proof of the 99% comes from the leftist era. Now that Musk is directing it, we will know a lot more about how good or bad SS really is

No. It would be less. your number is the amount attached to mistakes. It includes overpays and underpays. It does seem like a lot of money. But the amount lost is under 1%.
