Musk Vs Trump is just delish! Chickens coming home to roost for the Liar in Chief! Musk is much like Trump ...hi doesn't give a chit! Finally, someone had the balls to call Trump a liar out in public. Trump has the power, Musk has the money! Gonna be fun.

The pair are too similar to get along indefinitely.

But I believe Musk more than Trump.

Does that mean you have stopped bombing Teslas? That will give you more time for the Hamasnik rallies.

Musk dumping a lot of truth on the internet.

Extremely damaging to Trump.

Tax bill is now dead.

All of our taxes increase. Republicans lose the midterms.
I doubt Musk will have much impact on the fate of the bill. The only folks obsessed with him are Democrats, and they would not vote for the bill regardless. And the Republicans who oppose the bill are the principled ones who could give two ****s about Musk's opinions. It will be more circle-jerk for the LWNJ TDSers like quash junior, but if the bill fails it will be for other reasons.

So this bill is a principled bill raising the deficit by 2.5T. Wow, I thought raising the deficit was bad?

I hate to see this fight. Elon is correct about bloated government and too much spending and waste. Who could disagree? Problem is what you can get done with a few vote majority in both the House and Senate. Actually the spending should be attacked in the Appropriation Bills that Congress is supposed to pass each year by law but NEVER does requiring one continuing resolution after another for decades which only sustains and increases bloated government year after year. As usual these problems go back to a mostly unworkable Congress that constantly overspends.

But President Trump is smart also. He knows he must take bold actions economically to try and boost our anemic GDP growth to the 3.5-4% range which would make trillions of dollars in difference as our growth would outrun our debt to a certain degree. And if we could sustain that growth for several years and we could somehow get Congress to reign in spending to a reasonable degree, one could see how we would change our debt to GDP ratio.

I am convinced that Trump's strategic use of tariffs to change our trade imbalance with several of our largest trading partners will reap benefits like we have never seen. We all have to understand the implications of trade when our trade deficit is lowered drastically with the likes of China, Japan, The European Union and others due to trillions in new investments by corporations building factories to make products here in the U.S. to sell in foreign markets. Think about what happens when blue collar workers make things again with their hands and earn good wages. The country gets richer. Tax revenues to the government increase dramatically. The budget deficit comes into balance. We buy companies overseas rather than the other way around.

Through better tax policies like equipment write offs, etc. we are already seeing business investment in new equipment moving higher which will show up in improved productivity numbers in the future. No, I am one who believes in how Trump is using the tariffs and contrary to opponents, inflation numbers are coming down, which is what happened in his first term. The Atlanta Fed upgraded its GDP numbers to over 4% for the third quarter on an annual basis. When these deals settle down, so will the markets and within six months I predict our economy is off to the races. Just one man's opinion. But remember where you heard it.

So I Pray Trump and Elon can settle their dispute. They are basically for the same things.

The bill is DOA.

Whatever slim chance it had is finished.

Becoming more and more convinced Musk did exactly what had to be done.

nothing against Tesla, young hank. Tesla seems to be a really good car. I personally would never own one in my line of work. Did find it ironic that the lefties vandalized them and when Elon went to the Washington and the RWNJ started it.

You know there aren't many actual fiscal conservatives out there, but it only takes a few to **** up your punch bowl. I find that entertaining. Maybe the big government Republicans should appoint a couple representatives to sit down with Rand Paul and Thomas Massey, and let them broker a deal between themselves/Elon and the big government Republicans/Trump.

I track with you, but the reaction will be different. The left is more inclined toward demagoguery and authoritarianism versus discussing the merits of particular ideas. That's why you see the Democrats unable to engage intellectually with Musk but instead chose to attack Tesla owners and dealerships.

The right was never obsessed with Musk. The left was obsessed with demonizing him, so the support he had from the right was a reaction - like every Culture War started by the regressives.

Musk v Trump doesn't make people have to like Musk.

There are too many reasons to not buy a Tesla that have nothing to do with politics.

Interesting here is that Musk now has the moral high ground.

Trump's whole campaign is that he was wronged by a bad system, the Dems were spending the US to oblivion, and wants to bring the US back to the light. Now, between the budget he submitted which shows he is no different than the spent-aholic Dems and now the Epstein ties he no longer has the moral high ground and is really just another politician no different than the Dems and NEOCONs he says are the problem, just a more fascist one.

catastrophic misread.

Elon's antics are going to make it easier for the Senate to cut more spending out of the bill.
Elon's antics are going to make it easier for the recissions bills to pass the House & Senate.
Everyone has seen what he's willing to spend in primaries & generals.
Everyone has seen what a third party does to GOP hopes in national elections (2 Clinton terms).
GOP leadership will be whipping members to cut harder, to prevent Elon from wading in against them, if not actually re-engage on the GOP side.

(it's usually conservative ideologues berating GOP establishment unwillingness to cut anything. When was the last time the GOP donor class weighed in so forcefully in support of budget cuts, government cuts, etc......?)

We should no be worried at what we are watching. This is the system finally starting to threaten to work the way it should work.

Interesting attitude.

However IMO you are over rating the loyality and intelligence of many Republicans in congress.

Some sincerely believe the bill is flawed. Others hate Trump. Still others are positioning themselves to survive the mid term elections.

Musk has provided the stick ( escape hatch if you prefer ).to find some political shelter in case Trump's administration goes full wacko.

And such Republicans are going to now distance themselves from Trump, beginning with this flawed bill.

I agree with you.

I have made no bones about my disagreement with this Administration's trade and certain economic policies, but I haven't criticized at all DOGE or the efforts to uproot the fiscal insanity that is our federal budget and deficit spending. Even if Musk's and Trump's approaches to it were unwieldy and brute force, our nightmarish fiscal irresponsibility HAS to be dealt with, and DOGE seemed like the first real effort to address it at a systemic level.

Now to see the parties previously aligned on this cost cutting exercise at odds, coupled with a bill that continues the same spending excess is very disheartening. Musk at a minimum gave the efforts a level of credibility, despite the left's effort to disparage it, which is now lost.
