Starr will continue to serve as the university's chancellor and as a law professor. ... The interim president is David Garland, dean of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor, the university said in a release.YoakDaddy said:
This part isn't true. With Starr being demoted, somebody in the chain of command had to let CAB go. Ian was left in that chain. He was told to do that then find a replacement coach (Grobe) then to resign. Not doubting the BOFR accusations because of what I have known, but that whole Enron excuse is stupid.

McCaw: Baylor regents displayed racism, preferred misleading report on rape scandal
..
Liberty University Athletic Director Ian McCaw in a deposition said Baylor University undertook "an elaborate plan that essentially scapegoated black football players and the football program for being responsible for what was a decades-long, university-wide sexual assault scandal," according to a motion filed in Waco's U.S. District Court on Wednesday.
McCaw said he was "disgusted" by Baylor regents' racism and by a "phony" 13-page document held up by the board as a summary of a nine-month investigation into how Baylor responded to reports of sexual assault. ...

Cowlishaw saying there could be a lot of truth in what Ian is saying.
Saying maybe the BOR was trying to keep it from looking like there were bigger issues at the school.
I figured they would blow it all off....but they aren't.

Spoken like a good little BOR clown. You are a fool if you believe "the program and the fan base have moved on". You can wish that were the case all you want, but the only ones pushing the whole "moving on" agenda are those ultimately responsible for this sh*t show to begin with!TV55 said:Osodecentx said:

We all know this is a final money grab by the plaintiffs lawyers. They see the school, the program and the fan base have moved on (except for the 3 of you here on this board and your 10 fake accounts each where you circle <bleep> each other's comments).

Stranger pretty much has the best take on the "ribbon clerk" former athletic director. I am sure Stranger can chime in because he doesn't care for Ian or the Buddy crew.JXL said:
If those allegations are true, anyone with an ounce of integrity would have resigned long before being fired.

In most situations like this, the truth eventually finds its way to the light of day.
Buddy and Dary ran Baylor like their own private business. Remember the email from Buddy about the drinking sorority girls? Think for a moment about what kind of person would send that email?
This was the guy in charge....forget the university president....forget anybody....he ran the place.
So, if any of you folks think it would be not be in his nature to hide facts that didn't fit his narrative, you're far worse than sticking your head in the sand.
If this is true (and remember, this was testimony taken under oath, under threat of perjury) Baylor may be in immense trouble. Conferences don't like a member school being ascribed as racist at the top.
This deal is still unraveling, but ultimately this testimony, if true, could result in serious scrutiny by the Big 12 as to whether it wants to retain Baylor as a member.
I agree with this.Amarillobear said:
I believe that Ian has tried to do the right thing all along by being quiet and is only talking now because he is being drug into this mess. Patty Crawford said before that it wasn't a football problem but rather a university wide problem. Coach Barnes has stated before that he reported to JA the incident and felt that Art Briles did the right things.
Ian is finally just telling the truth about what has happened but many still want to blame he and Briles when, in fact, they were scapegoated. I wish nothing but good things for Ian and Art as I never believed that they were guilty of any wrong doing. Patty Crawford has tried to say this before but the narrative to blame the football program at all costs was the direction the BOR wanted this to go.
Judge Starr has maintained this whole time that Ian and Art were both men of great integrity. I believe that and I believe the BOR split vote on whether to fire or not fire Coach Briles was very telling.

McCaw isn't lying...not one bit - you may label him incompetent if you like - but he's telling the truth and doing so under oath.
Meanwhile another man's life is wrecked as he sits at home with a robust bank account so many of you like to mention that he'd trade in a minute to erase this event from his life.
I'm angry all over again now.

The easy narrative was that "Football and Briles" was the main problem when the entire campus and the way it was run from the very top was the main problem.
I do agree labeling them as racist is as bad as blaming football for a campus wide issue.
His time on the Baylor board is listed in this .pdf of his bio, which I got off the RMU.edu site. He was a college president when he was on the board. He moved to another college as its president and in January 2017, it was announced that Howard was selected to be a member of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_B._Howard
Yea, jackass move trying to label them all as racist. There was plenty of ammo without that.Porteroso said:
This is such a colossal sh!storm. While I partially believe Ian, I can't help but to wonder at calling all of the regents racist. I can believe that the regents wanted bad stuff swept under the rug, but Ian by default must have been a part of that. He was the athletic director, not the fitness coach.
I would guess that his assessment of the regents is mostly accurate, but that calling them racist is an attempt to distance himself. I don't think it will work, now that this is public. There's no way that damning emails don't come out about Ian now.
In the end, the whole thing is so sad, and even more, so bad, and only going to get a lot worse. I hope Ian loses his job, I just cannot believe he is so full of integrity, if he knew of all of this, for so long, and only resigned once it started coming out. I really think Starr and briles might end up being the only upstanding ones in this mess, when all the facts are out. Probably 10 years from now. No wonder the board has remained silent.
