Such an easy narrative, isn't it? Goes down like Kool Aid....

We all know this is a final money grab by the plaintiffs lawyers. They see the school, the program and the fan base have moved on (except for the 3 of you here on this board and your 10 fake accounts each where you circle <bleep> each other's comments).

Let's read BU counsels rebuttal to these revelations and THEN decide, right?
Spoken like a good little BOR clown. You are a fool if you believe "the program and the fan base have moved on". You can wish that were the case all you want, but the only ones pushing the whole "moving on" agenda are those ultimately responsible for this sh*t show to begin with!

Not really. It's been, what, over 2 years? You really should move on or seek professional help doing so. Living in the past is no way to lead a productive future.

I wish you the best. I really do.

I'm not going to stop supporting Baylor financially, or quit going to football games, just because a handful of people have yet to be held accountable for this mess. Sure it sucks that that same handful of POS individuals benefit from my loyalty to Baylor, but I will never let them drive me away from my school. In addition, I will never "move on" from wanting the individuals responsible for this disaster to be held accountable and face the consequences of their complete failure.

Good post. Mostly Agree. I am buying tickets still. Not sure how many games I will make. But all extra giving is over until every BOR member is replaced.

Although I will likely be forced to give it anyway with higher tuition that will be coming.

What I'm afraid will happen is that given the events of today, Baylor's settlement offers will increase to the point the plaintiffs will fold. When that happens it will be difficult, if not impossible, for the truth to ever come out.

Then we'd be stuck with the same band of brothers going forward, but with immense damage having been done and those with dirt on their hands walk......and deny......and deflect.......hoping people forget. Most will.

I do t understand how this wasn't settled a while ago. Michigan State has already settled and they were two years after us.

FWIW, as important as it may be for ian's Depo to shine new light on this issue, it isn't particularly relevant to this case at had , which involves 10 chicks, only one of whomps most I think had any claims involving athletes, and one of whose claims date back to around 2004 or so.

Also of note is that Jimmy D is the local mouthpiece to the media, but he isn't the lawyer signing the motionsit's the ambulance chasers out of Houston filing them.

If they are not, Baylor can agree to have the actual text with the names redacted to prove otherwise. Let's see if they do.

Correct. And if they do, it will never get the press attention that this has.

It appears Plaintiffs are trying to use Ian to get discovery from all the other settled athlete cases, including Jasmin and others with morning after regrets. Again, which may be important to learning the ultimate "truth" but are not germane to the case involving these 10 claimants.

Tactic is to selectively quote from the depo to create sensationalism that is lacking in case involving chicks who slept around, got ghosted by their hookups, boohooed over it to the point they flunked out, and then blame Baylor for their academic failures. That in and of itself isn't front page news.

This same thing was said when the scandal broke. Several people said it was not a football problem but a university wide problem and football (Briles/Ian) were the scapegoats. Some even said that first summer that it was the regents upset at the race issue (white girls with black football players), drinking, partying, group sex, etc. and now it is coming out as truth....

In most situations like this, the truth eventually finds its way to the light of day.

Buddy and Dary ran Baylor like their own private business. Remember the email from Buddy about the drinking sorority girls? Think for a moment about what kind of person would send that email?

This was the guy in charge....forget the university president....forget anybody....he ran the place.

So, if any of you folks think it would be not be in his nature to hide facts that didn't fit his narrative, you're far worse than sticking your head in the sand.

If this is true (and remember, this was testimony taken under oath, under threat of perjury) Baylor may be in immense trouble. Conferences don't like a member school being ascribed as racist at the top.

This deal is still unraveling, but ultimately this testimony, if true, could result in serious scrutiny by the Big 12 as to whether it wants to retain Baylor as a member.

I don't know any of the people you mention (Buddy and Deary) but your insinuation that a couple of dudes singlehandedly ran Baylor is laugh out loud funny. Same for the reference to being in trouble with the Big 12 (our current AD was just named to an NCAA committee...which completely bunker busts your wild ass theories).

What else you got?

Alien involvement?
Russian government?
Kim Kardashian publicity stunt?

C'mon people ... these "revelations" come out 2+ years after The Big Disaster? Someone either wants money or is angling for a job. Seriously, these lawyers think Baylor Nation is stupid. Maybe we once were. Not anymore.

Maybe you're new around here so I'm not gonna call you ignorant or some such. Ask around, we've had a war around here for years (since Sloan) and Buddy and his lap dog, Dary literally ran Baylor for over a decade. They are still trying. Buddy was responsible for nearly all BOR appointments and most of them are still in those seats.
Therefore the BOR is, for the most part, still tainted with his stench.

Starr, Ian, Ramsower, Tommye Lou and others took DAILY marching orders from Buddy and Dary. Accreditation even became in danger because of the board chairman giving direct instruction to administration officials.

These rogue regents even declared an open war against the official alumni association which lasted several years and basically destroyed it before a settlement was reached.

During that time there were musical chairs in the president's office and the VPs. Two presidents were fired and a good one was run off. There was also a palace coup attempt to put one of their cronies in that seat. That attempt failed.

Though still a bit murky as to the details but Briles was dismissed by this same cartel.

The cartel still exists and holds power to this minute.

And you thought the only swamp is in Washington D.C..

Wise up.

Statements in support of the players were few and far between, and I do not recall any from the administration. I do remember Coach Grobe making some statements of support, as did Coach Rhule when he arrived.

Ian's main daily activity as the so called AD was to read baylorfans.com.

Ian was hired by the BOR to be nothing but a puppet AD. A ribbon clerk. Nothing more. He knew every bit of dirty sh*t (hey, that rhymed) that went on in his department for all of his years.

As someone pointed out, they fired Starr and needed Ian to hire Grobe since Starr was out of the loop. Then they named Garland who fired Ian immediately. Ian was out of his office within an hour of hiring Grobe.

Plain and simple, Ian was fired because his hands were as dirty as anybody's.

Ian is covering his own ass here folks. He was never invested in Baylor anyway. A hired gun, a carpetbagger and a ribbon clerk.

I'm not letting the BOR off the hook, by the way. Like my friend Grunt Tuff alluded, the chickens will still come home to roost.

I believe that Ian has tried to do the right thing all along by being quiet and is only talking now because he is being drug into this mess. Patty Crawford said before that it wasn't a football problem but rather a university wide problem. Coach Barnes has stated before that he reported to JA the incident and felt that Art Briles did the right things.

Ian is finally just telling the truth about what has happened but many still want to blame he and Briles when, in fact, they were scapegoated. I wish nothing but good things for Ian and Art as I never believed that they were guilty of any wrong doing. Patty Crawford has tried to say this before but the narrative to blame the football program at all costs was the direction the BOR wanted this to go.

Judge Starr has maintained this whole time that Ian and Art were both men of great integrity. I believe that and I believe the BOR split vote on whether to fire or not fire Coach Briles was very telling.
Well said, thank you.

The media lapped it up with a spoon the way they wanted to read it. Even the PH findings said it was widespread institutional failure to properly implement Title IX procedures, not a football scandal. But they needed a human sacrifice, and Briles the man who made Baylor a national football power, was the attention-grabbing scapegoat they could roast.
