Let me guess: Everyone calling White Privilege a "hoax" is a white guy.
Go ride around one night with a black friend behind the wheel while you crouch down in the back seat, then get back to me.
The total absence of empathy on this board remains astounding.
The Baylor Bubble continues.
Interesting that you are astounded by the "absence of empathy" yet propose that "Everyone calling White Privilege a "hoax" is a white guy.
What's "interesting" about the comment? It's true.
PS I made the same suggestion as Pecos Ride with a black man at night
I found it "interesting" that a poster is astonished (greatly surprised or impressed; amazed) that other posters lack empathy (the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another) while stating that "Everyone.. is a white guy."
The "Everyone is a white guy" comment in my opinion is a direct lack of empathy for other "white guy" experiences, feeling, thoughts etc. and therefore lead to me finding it "interesting".
Then you're missing the point. Understanding of white privilege begins with empathy for the black experience in America. Compared to a black man born 1947 like myself I have more empathy for him than white guys of 1947.
Empathy for white skin seems silly. Empathy for each white guy's personal experience and struggles to succeed (and black Guys, too) in life seems realistic and needed if we are to be a community of citizens.
Why would you right historical wrongs by guilting the present?
Expressing belief of white privilege is divisive.
It condescends and takes no account of individuality.
It is wrong to paint a race as beneficiaries.
Would like to penalize the white man?
