WACO, Texas — The No. 20 Baylor Men’s Basketball team (2-0) beat the John Brown Golden Eagles (2-1) in the final home opener for the Ferrell Center by a score of 96-70.

The Bears rode solid shooting and superior size to the easy victory with Langston Love leading all scorers with 20 points.

Baylor did a lot of damage in the paint, scoring 66 paint points as well as getting to the free throw line 16 times.

The guards slashed to the hoop all game long and the pair of Yves Missi and Josh Ojianwuna racked up 17 points and 16 rebounds collectively.

John Brown kept within ten points or so for much of the game in large part thanks to shooting 10-for-26 from deep.

Drew Miller hit five triples on his way to 19 points.

It was never going to be enough to truly threaten the Bears though. Baylor was bigger and more athletic across the board and the No. 20 team’s skill is at least matches their national rank. Oh, and don’t forget the thousands of screaming children in attendance for the annual “Future Bears Game”.

Not to be forgotten, RayJ Dennis looks to be getting back in the flow of things after a knee injury that kept him out of the Bears’ scrimmage against Gonzaga. He scored 16 points while dishing eight assists and committing four turnovers.

Jayden Nunn also played exceptionally, scoring 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting.
