We had our whole team on the other side of half court as he was allowed to catch it and dribble unmolested.

No one should be allowed to dribble without being molested.

Great possession.

Sucks to give up a banked-in 3 at the buzzer.

No excuse in letting him dribble across half court uncontested.
Those officials would have given ISU free throws if we breathed on them during that sequence.

ISU will make adjustments, CSD must do the same. Punch counter punch.

Drew said we were 3 possessions away in 3 games from being #1 in the country.

Not sure about #1 in the country, but I pointed out that we were three plays away from being undefeated in the conference, and the reply was we were in a free fall. Those three losses sucked but they were by the thinnest of margins.

Walter 0-5 from the field. The basket must look like a thimble to him right now.

I know at some point he will get him self back on track. Hopefully it's soon.

He got the yips. Disappearing about the same time as our lotto pick last year

Well that was a pretty good half, I like the fire of the team so far. Adjust to the counter they will try after halftime and get that win! Sic 'Em!

If we were 18-2 and 7-0 in #1 conference in America..we'd be #1 without a doubt

And we could just as easily fouled them while molesting them, then he'd be at the free throw line with a much higher percentage shot than the one he took.

Chalk that up to a luck shot. The kid is a 25% shooter from even normal 3 point range. Drew played the correct percentages.

Every conference game for us has been a blood pressure raising nail biting experience.

Basketball gods...can please have one comfortable win right here??

That's true of every Big 12 game for every team.

It's a day ending in "Y".

Slightly different spelling in German, but close enough!
("u" or "ue" instead of "ou" & a double "p")

I get what you're saying..but we've complained for 2 weeks about those 3 losses where we didn't do a lot of the little things..that was one of those little things..

Even a foul would be only 1 or 2 points.

Hopefully this doesn't come back to haunt us.

Two keys:

-Will ISU adjust to the zone better
-Can Baylor either 1) continue shooting above 50% from 3, or 2) find ways to get into the paint and score more.

I expect ISU to attempt more 3s, as they only attempted 8 in the first half.

Agree. But even if it does, Drew still played the correct percentages. You can play the correct percentage strategy in poker, golf, basketball, football, etc. and still lose but it doesn't mean you didn't do the right thing at that time by playing the higher percentage.

He came back to bench when we were making our little run with Josh in so hopefully just cautionary holding him out

Yeah, I'm not going to blame the defense when a guy banks in a 25- or 26-foot 3-pointer against a strong contest.

Nunn defended it well. It was just a lucky shot.

Love CSD's optimism....but that works on the flip side too though.

The wins against Ok St and Cincy could've gone the other way.

There's just no margin for error in the conference this year

Particularly one shooting 25.9% from even regular 3 point range.

Yes, but we still have a big lead & lots of momentum. The key going forward is halftime adjustments, something which Drew often excels in.

I remember other games in which we up a buzzer beater to end a half.

Examples:
2021 v Kansas in Waco (& a walk on!)
2021 @ TCU
2018 v Mississippi State in March we lost by 1

We still won both of the first two.

We make some really lazy interior passes that just don't cut it at this level, which is one of the primary factors leading to our high turnover rate.
