The ultimate tailgate package for Baylor’s 2019 season!

The top two teams become clear, a new coach gets a signature win, and two more teams are one win away from bowl eligibility after Week 13 in the Big 12.

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Week 9 | Week 10 | Week 11Week 12

Week 13

TCU 17, Oklahoma 34 (Norman)

The Alex Delton ups and downs continue for the Horned Frogs and this one is a major down. He turns the ball over twice and can never really get the offense going as the Sooners build up a 20-3 halftime advantage and never look back. Jalen Hurts racks up 300 yards of total offense and throws three touchdowns, one to CeeDee Lamb and two to Grant Calcaterra. The Sooners continue its undefeated season with a convincing win against one of the best defensive teams in the conference.

Texas 23, Baylor 27 (Waco)

The game of the week features an in-state matchup between two teams fighting for positioning in the Big 12 standings. Last year Sam Ehlingher got injured early in the game and the year before he did not play so we finally will get to see a full matchup between the high school rivals Charlie Brewer and Sam Ehlingher. Both quarterbacks have really solid games. Brewer has 300 total yards of offense and hits Denzel Mims twice in the end zone. Ehlingher has 250 yards of total offense and runs it into the end zone twice. He guides a touchdown drive at the eight minute mark to give the Longhorns a 23-20 lead. Brewer is able to do what he couldn’t do in last years matchup and that is lead a late drive to give Baylor a marquee win over the Longhorns.

Oklahoma State 20, West Virginia 33 (Morgantown)

The Mountaineers don’t have any depth and loss an unreal amount of playmakers after last season but this feels like the kind of game where Oklahoma State overlooks a tricky environment and lays an egg. Kennedy McKoy and Martell Pettaway carry the offense as each go for over 100 yards. Austin Kendall shows signs of improvement as he throws for 250 yards and a couple touchdowns to TJ Simmons. Spencer Sanders has had a monster first year but has also had a couple disappointing outings and this is one of those as he turns it over a couple times and can’t consistently put the ball in the end zone in this one. Neal Brown is going to be a good coach and have success at West Virginia, this game will prove it.

Kansas State 37, Texas Tech 27 (Lubbock)

Physicality wins football games, this game holds true to that philosophy. The Wildcats come into Lubbock with an edge knowing it’s win or go home for its season. Kansas State runs the ball for well over 300 yards as Skylar Thompson, James Gilbert, and Harry Trotter run wild and each score a touchdown on the ground. The defense plays very well too as Reggie Walker has a monster game with three sacks and a forced fumble. The Red Raiders move the ball quite a bit through the air but the inability to score touchdowns in the red zone costs them a chance in this one.

Kansas 14, Iowa State 35 (Ames)

This one is over the moment these two teams walked out onto the field. The Jayhawks are completely beaten after this tough stretch of games in conference play. They have been close to winning a couple but not this one. The Cyclones jump on them early with a quick 21-0 run in the first half. Brock Purdy throws three touchdowns and Breece Hall runs in a touchdown. The Iowa state defense stifles the KU rushing attack and puts a ton of pressure on the quarterback as they come away with six sacks. The Cyclones are in a great spot to make its first ever Big 12 Championship appearance.
