Here's what I'm thinking

Guaranteed-

B10: Oregon, Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State

SEC: UGA, UT, Tennessee

ACC: Champion

Big12: Champion

Independent: Notre Dame

G5: Boise St

Next up:

I'm currently guessing Miami since they only have 2 losses but I'm replacing them with SMU if they lose the ACC since they would have 2 quality losses

Aggie could make it if they win out (unlikely)

Bama or South Carolina are also watching from the outside but it's also unlikely since they have 3 losses

How the hell did Bama lose to this OU team?

Cows are playing better than the Aggies. The only reason the Aggies gave a score is a lucky break: 93 yard pick six. I think the Cows will win, although I hope not. It doesn't really matter because I'm not sure either team can beat Georgia next week.

If Alabama is left out then obviously the CFP will expand to 16 teams next year....

Bama does not deserve to be in. Period. But if their being left out leads to a 16 team playoff with no byes, that alone us reason enough to leave them out.

A middle of the road Big 12 team with minimal success over the past decade until they won the title in 2023.
If they can do it, so can Baylor, K Stare, or anyone else.

Possibly, but you have to factor in the unbalanced schedules… UT avoided Tenn, Ole Miss, Bama, SC, Mizzou and LSU. They got arguably the easiest conference schedule possible
Texas isn't 11-1 with say Georgias schedule or Ole Miss schedule

I'm not so sure. They had a terrible first half against Georgia, but have otherwise basically enforced their will on other teams. Ewers is good for a few bonehead plays every game, and an elite QB could maybe give them some problems, but there are no elite QBs in the SEC this year.

We might have to disagree there. AM is the only SEC team that Tx beat that finished with a winning record in conference play. Hell aside from GA and AM they didn't played no one in the SEC that finished with a winning record. They absolutely feasted on the bottom of the SEC.
Tx is damm good. Zero doubt about that. But they were gift wrapped a conference title with that slate

Valid point.

However, most SEC teams are mediocre like Aggie, Ole Miss, & South Carolina. They have little chance of competing for a conference title in any year. There are only a few at the top who will do that regularly, over the past decade that was Bama, LSU, & Georgia. Without Saban, Bama is in doubt & LSU has declined since their natty. Even when the mediocre teams seem to be having a good year, it usually falls apart in November. This certainly is the case with the Aggies who have never played in the SEC title game. The mediocre teams will have limited opportunities to play the leaders each year.
IowaBear

If we're calling those teams mediocre we're calling the entire B12 mediocre… heck you're calling the entire country mediocre those are still good teams. Great? No, but very few are. Not even sure there's a single great team this year. Oregons the closest but they have a few flaws albeit small ones

Ole Miss is mediocre? Do you watch football?

No, he doesn't. Love Historian but he's admitted he doesn't watch anyone outside the B12. Which is perfectly fine. But it throws his outrageous takes about other teams/leagues out the window.

These super conferences are going to need to figure out a better system for scheduling. Perhaps going back to divisions isn't the worst idea in the world.

They are undefeated in hypothetical matchups.

Agreed, and it's not just Texas. Look across the country. Indiana avoided Oregon, Penn St, Iowa, Illinois
The top 3 of the ACC SMU, Clemson, Miami didn't play each other

I'd have to double check but I'm almost certain the ACC also plays 4 non con games too

Correct. And as a result 13 of 16 SECSECSEC and 14 of 18 ACC teams are bowl eligible, including OU and Cal who both went 2-6 in conference play.

B1G got 12 of 18 bowl eligible, but only Nebraska qualified at 3-6. Big12 only had 9 of 16 bowl eligible, but all 9 had a winning conference record.

There is a belief among some here that if a SEC team isn't in the top band of the SEC, it's automatically mediocre by national P4 standards. That take isn't based on reality.

I pretty much agree with this. However, if Boise State loses to UNLV in the title game, I'm not sure what the next highest ranked conference champion is.

To give you an idea of how strong the SEC/Big 10 bias is in this scam, this from an article this morning: "Georgia, which will meet Texas in the SEC championship game, needed eight overtimes on Friday night to beat rival Georgia Tech and likely punch its ticket win or lose against the Horns"

Win or lose...lose means that the presstitutes are pretty sure that a 9-4 UGA team is an automatic at large bid at this point.

Not sure how South Carolina would get in over Bama. I dislike them as much as the next person but Bama beat SC head to head and have just as good ranked wins.

It's kind of funny that tripling the number of teams invited to the CFP has done nothing to turn down the controversy
