It feels like at times he defers to older guys like Omier and Roach.
When he gets aggressive he's hard to stop. Sure, he makes an error occasionally playing like that but the tradeoff is greater.

This team would be much more efficient if VJ was attacking the paint like that and Omier was playing strictly through the post. Way to in love with jump shots

Asemota's got something. He's very raw but the kid plays with emotion and has some skills. He's the kid you have to keep in the program and develop.

Yeah I'm convinced that the best use for this team is to just play downhill and reckless. We aren't good shooters. We aren't smart. Just let them fly around. At least it's more fun to watch

Drive and dish. We have some guys who can knock down wide open catch and shoot 3s. Let's get more of those and fewer forces off the bounce.

Get VJ going downhill and Omier playing on the block. Crash the defense and hit the open man.

Playing downhill will give guys better looks from 3 too. Not a good shooting team. But getting wide open looks will bode well at points.

I said it after I think it was the Cincinnati game, but this is the game I want to see Edgecombe play every night. Shoot 3s when they're wide open, but focus on getting inside and finishing. That's your strength. There aren't many guys in college basketball that can stop you when you attack with aggression.

This version of VJ can lead to the Bears down the stretch this season. Just needs to attack, no need to settle. Good things happen attacking the rim. He's drawing extra defenders as well which is going to lead for open looks.
