If Blackwell goes to Baylor or Ole Miss she will be the main go to player, at South Carolina she won't,that will be her choice.

Vic is a difficult personality to absorb on a daily basis. He tends toward Bad Cop Worse Cop when things are going poorly.

A portion of the Texas crowd will never accept Vic or any other male as UT WBB HC. That creates tension.

The inherited players did not fit his old school dribble drive offense and [wo]man over pressure defensive scheme.

UT athletic department's culture is a cesspool.

Cleaning house may help in the short term. But in the long run the overall situation does not bode well for group happiness.

It's seems to me if they have Rori, Aliyah, Shay, Deyona, and Aaliyah as their main 5 they will be undersized. I would assume he is also playing the portal. Maybe they have a freshman coming in to help with size at times.

I too am very confused on the name " Calamity" as it means Disaster.

Ole miss just picked up a transfer from Purdue, their second this week. Hopefully we will get lucky one of these days.

Nicki has said she will be vetting all possible transfers regardless of talent to determine if they are culture fit and will not have negative effect on team chemistry. I think this is very good thing and I am sure it takes some time

I think you can clearly see how she will fit here, and the opportunities she will have. The players she will be around the staff I think from what I saw when she played us she has a super high motor. She would be a 3 here and she can handle the ball get boards she gives us more height. She helps get to the positionless basketball a lot faster. I see no red flags from what we have to offer her and how she can thrive. But it is up to her and no matter what she will be great anywhere!!

I haven't looked to see any updates, but either 1 or 2 years ago, I got curious and looked at the schools with higher attendance than Baylor. As I recall, all but one of them (Notre Dame) had significantly larger student bodies that Baylor, yet Baylor was still at the top 10 level.

Naked comparisons of attendance without taking into account the number of students and alumni should be taken with a grain of salt.

While attendance is nice, the data doesn't necessarily support a connection between attendance and either winning or recruiting.



Top seeds and top programs not in Top 20 of attendance: Stanford, Oregon, UCLA, Texas, Michigan, Indiana, NC State, etc.

Mediocre programs with Top 20 attendance: ATM, Nebraska, UNM, Middle TN St., Purdue

Attendance won't hurt but it isn't a cure all. The evidence does seem to indicate to some degree that competition for entertainment $ is as much a driver for WBB attendance as is winning. On the other hand, the correlation between best budgets and winning is very convincing.

I know that CNC and staff are doing a great job in the selection of culture fit players. As a fan, of course waiting is the hardest part. I trust CNC to the fullest. I know some people were panicking when we didn't have any recurits for 2022, and now .... 9th ranked class in the nation !!!

i think i'm just saying that is the most we can do is give them a recruiting tool that people in waco want to cherish you and watch you perfect your craft.

She was #3 ranked recurit. Wonder if she is leaving because someone is transferring in ....

could just be a simple realization that she only has 4 years she is still going to be behind the people in her class like it was this year. Raven is going to be added to the mix. She is a guard they got a transfer already from Georgia Tech. The top 3 recruit in the country probably got promised minutes and that is not turning out right now.

You have to think if Blackwell comes to Baylor others will follow. Everyone wants to win.

Yea I was shocked when #2 ,#3, and #4 all committed to SC. That was a hell of a recuriting job, but It is hard to keep everyone pleased. Also with the covid year thing it makes it worse for new players to have to keep sitting behind fifth year seniors and grad transfers.

Baylor has more roster spots than anyone in the country.

Rivers top 12 school before committing to SC were all close states. NC, NCST, NCA&T, FSU, Tenn, I wonder if she still want to stay close to home.

NC State is losing a lot of there team so that's another place you could get some playing time.

As backwards as this sounds the fact we won for so long and often with little real competition and many blowouts is a good start as to why we have not as high of attendance as one would expert or hope to have. The marginal fan that you have to have to have huge crowds got bored. Just recall the packed house we had for our first hosting of an NCAA and even the NIT semis and finals. It was a road not traveled before. That of itself was a draw.. With a new coach and for some lower expectations, success may once again get some of that excitement back and pull that marginal fan back into a seat.

You have to wonder how much the increase in television and streaming coverage plays a role as well. When it is not an important game against a big time opponent, many fans will opt to watch from home.

Sounds like she may visit some campuses first. That can only help!

And that sounds like verification of the other source that stated the same thing. If you search around you will see many people didnt trust the original source.

Also the wording of the above may also indicate she has narrowed her choice down to two or one of the three finalists. Who knows?
