Welcome back! It’s time to project the Big 12 season for every team once again. Over the next couple of weeks, I will go through the entirety of the upcoming season for each team in the Big 12, pick the conference champion and make bowl projections.

Obviously, there is still a lot that can change, but barring significant injuries for any of the teams, we are in a good spot for some predictions. With that said, let's do this!

Baylor Arizona: Saturday, Nov. 22, Arizona Stadium

Arizona is a team that I think will be much improved this season, but it won’t show in the record, as they still just aren’t at the level of most of the other Big 12 teams. The Wildcats return a lot of key pieces, but this team gave up 39 to New Mexico, beat Northern Arizona by 12, lost by 21 or more points six times in Big 12 play, and lost a generational wide receiver in Tet McMilan. Even if they improve this year, it is clear they are starting from a very poor position, and I have little confidence in Brent Brennan to fully address the issues in just one season. They still can’t run the ball, and quarterback Noah Fifita is still inconsistent at best.

This may be the point in the season where Arizona has completely given up, as a bowl game is no longer attainable, and Brennan is on the verge of being fired, if it hasn’t already happened. I think Arizona is going to be a mess late in the year, and Baylor will take advantage with a rare, comfortable road win in the Big 12.

  • Prediction: Baylor 34 at Arizona 16
