The guy was trying to raise the dead. The three coaches before him had gone 10-78 in conference in the preceeding fifteen years before he was hired. Just to sense how remarkable Briles was for Baylor football, he climbed to .500 in conference play in his third year, had a winning record in conference play every year thereafter, took the program to six consecutive bowl games (winning half of them), and won back to back conference championships.

Curious if Aranda and Grimes ever watch game film of Baylor 2010-2015? Or did Mack instruct them not to as it conjures up a dark period in BU history. Seems its watched in film rooms around the country with much interest on a regular basis.

Letting it go is a hard thing to do when every week of football season is a pointed reminder that it was one of the worst personnel decisions in the history of the school.

I'll take the excitement over the single game. I don't value the Big 12 Championship game as much as I would a regular season title.

The boring plays put me to sleep year after year after Briles and Co.

We know Briles won't come back. No way he would and no way the school would. It's a bit of sarcasm due to how we royally screwed ourselves and where we are today. Mack enjoys hiring coaches that are yes men, coaches that aren't bigger than him. Hence, the past coaching hires.

Briles has been 'hired' by at least 3 different places (colleges and CFL) over the past 7 years, all of whom had to immediately backtrack on the hire due to media backlash.

Briles is never coming back. Stop wasting time thinking about something that will never happen.

If you insist on fantasy, why not just create a thread titled "We are going to win the CFP this year", instead.

Briles was absolutely the scapegoat for the university and should be given his job back with backpay. It is a shame what happened to this man. Look around and see true scumbags that are head coaches and think about if something like this happened to you at your job. He was led to believe he would be suspended and brought back and probably had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Very similar to what is happening to Trump while You know who hasn't even been charged with anything.
