A&M has not won a conference championship since 93, back in the SWC I believe.

They won the B12 in 98 when they beat 11-0 KSt in the CCG.

Well…..still 1998 was 26 ago. That is not a lot better than 31 years ago.

Cry more. They already are playing one less P4 than the B12 and B1G.

Oh look: now Saban is advocating let's just break off the top 30 programs and have them play each other.

I have said this for several years and now the push is starting from talking heads. A few more years of big time sec or big10 teams being left out (even if rightfully so) and the call will get bigger.

As someone said above ESPN wants the playoffs to be 10 teams from those two conferences with the last two being ACC, big 12, G5 or ND.

Yet Bama lost to Vandy... Sort of takes the wind out of his sails. How do you stand there with a straight face after losing to the Commodores?

I'm not gonna lose any sleep if Bama gets left out, but they have definitely played a much tougher schedule than Indiana.

They've beaten 3 ranked teams, including Georgia.

Meanwhile, Indiana had one big test this season, and totally bombed it (OSU).

Schedules matter. But they really matter when you play an FCS-caliber one, and then lay a goose egg when you finally match up against a solid team.

That should not be rewarded.

How many of Bama's wins are against teams ranked now? They beat Georgia, a legit playoff team, & Mizzou, a better team than most, and a bunch of mediocrities.

True, Indiana's schedule isn't great but that's true of most teams in most conferences, especially the P2. And it is better than the FCS. That's an exaggeration. At least Indiana won all games against B10 mediocrities. Bama lost a couple of games against SEC mediocrities (OU & Vandy are both 6-6).

Nobody will watch those things. That's why ESPN does this. It's all a gross manipulation to increase rankings & thus $$$$. That's one reason I never watch the show. I'd rather wait to find out.

Wow! They did it. Shocked.

It is a shocker: the committee left them out. They didn't earn it but that hasn't stopped the committee before.

Saban complaining about scheduling tough opponents outside of conference when Alabam's three losses were in-conference, is rich.

And two of those are barely bowl eligible.

Maybe Bama should stop playing a second cupcake in November.

If you're worried about losing to certain non conference teams, then maybe you simply aren't a top team.

Alabama has had no issues losing only one or two games in a season previously with their schedule. Yet first time they lose 3 games in nearly 20 years and it's Waaaaa waaaaa crying.

DONT LOSE TO OU OR VANDY NEXT TIME. It's as simple as that.

Bad losses have to be considered just as much as good wins.

Yep...Bama supporters have looked so bad today...with Kiffin not too far behind. They need to grow the hell up.

How many of those teams are currently ranked?

The answer is still 3.

Georgia
South Carolina
Missouri

The problem with many on this board is that they are letting their personal bias and dislike of Bama cloud their judgment.

If you want to say that Bama's loss to OU was a disqualifier, that's one thing.

But to hype up an Indiana team that beat up on Charlotte, FIU, and Western Illinois, is a bit much.

I don't care how far in advance you have to schedule the games, but no one on here believes that any of those teams will become national powerhouses anytime soon.

We complain about teams playing soft schedules...but why wouldn't they, if many folks can be fooled simply by the record against that weak schedule?

This whole debate on scheduling non-conference games makes no sense given no team was penalized for a non-conference loss. Replace Alabama's loss to Vandy with like Ohio State, then the conversation completely changes if Alabama is left out.

Ultimately though we're arguing over the 4th best SEC team. If the conference is so great, then they should still have no problem winning it all.

If Alabama feels so slighted then they also shouldn't forget the gift they received last year from the committee when they got in over Florida state.

Someone who believes South Carolina or Mizzou will soon become national powerhouse teams is deluding themselves. I doubt many of their fan bases think it will happen.

I did miss SC & Mizzou still being ranked, although I think they are ranked too considering their schedules.

My point is that every team should be held to the same standard and SEC teams often are not treated the same as ACC or Big 12 teams, especially a team like Bama with a paltry record. To their credit, the committee did not put Bama in the playoffs when other teams have a better record.

You play who is on your schedule. The B10 and SEC have created this mess with the super conferences. SEC greed is what is creating this situation, this time it bit Bama. I guess they expect the top 6 from the SEC getting in, than it will be #7... They never stop *****ing.

Getting 3 into a 12 team field is damn good. 25% of the field is SEC. 45% is B10.

The SEC's argument is not with ACC, it is B10
