The Dallas Mavericks have been dealt another brutal injury blow.

Mavericks center Dereck Lively II has sustained a small fracture in his foot and is expected to miss two to three months, ESPN'S Shams Charania reported on Wednesday.

That sure doesnt feel like we are getting much back for Luka. I betcha there is something we don't know about. Is Luka damaged goods? Was he whining? I know they weren't happy with his conditioning. And of course there was a mega contract coming. I don't think that anything to do with it unless they KNEW he was damaged goods and didn't want to fund that mega contract due to that

The wheels keep turning as the Dallas front office shuffles the Mavericks roster ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

The Mavericks have acquired forward Caleb Martin from the Philadelphia 76ers in a trade, the team announced on Tuesday. In exchange, Dallas is sending Quentin Grimes and a 2025 second-round pick, which was originally owned by the 76ers, back to Philadelphia.

I still can't believe we traded him for pretty much nothing. This was a 5 First rounders guy if anything. Still in his mid twenties, five All NBA seasons, nothing but an upside in front of him;

It was easy to wonder if Luka Doni would go off for 40 points last night. The Mavericks, the team that shocked the entire sports world by trading him last month, were in town. No one would blame him for trying a little harder, and he admitted the game felt "weird" and "different."

Instead of 40, Doni did what the Lakers actually needed him to do record a triple-double and become the creator this team needs him to be. Doni's final stat line: 19 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. A true playmaker.

L.A. might not be the true best team in the West, but Doni with LeBron James (27 points last night) make the previously drifting Lakers a threat to win any playoff series, and perhaps a few.

Kyrie Irving has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season. Irving suffered the injury in Monday's game.

Irving was an All-Star this season and appeared in 50 of the Dallas Mavericks' 62 games. Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 40.1 percent on three-pointers.

Mavs rout the Sacramento Kings in the one-game play-in. With the dominant win, the Mavericks keep their playoff chances alive and will advance to the final game of the NBA's Play-In Tournament to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

The winner will take on the #1 ranked OKC. I give either one a sliver of hope to beat the Thunder

Mavs down 108-91 with 6 mins left. AD limping badly. We definitely got some severely damaged goods in the Luka trade. There is no way anyone could ever convince any Maverick fan that it was a great deal, much less fair deal. If we were to trade him, at least 4, maybe 5 first round picks from a sub .500 team, none protected should have been the only way

I can't believe it, after so many snafu's in the lottery, the Mavericks won the #1 pick. This marked the first time in 17 draft lottery attempts that the Mavericks vaulted to a higher pick than the odds projected. Out of 1,001 ping pong ball combinations, the Mavericks entered the lottery with only 18. That gave them only a 1.8% chance of drawing No. 1 and consensus top pick, Flagg of Duke; Dallas had a 1.98% chance of getting the second pick; 2.21% odds of drawing No. 3; 2.5% odds of getting No. 4.
