Dallas Mavericks name former Timberwolves, 49ers executive Ethan Casson as team president
Ethan Casson's lengthy attainment list during a quarter-century in pro sports includes the successes of San Francisco's Levi's Stadium and Minneapolis' Target Center, but now he's seizing what he believes is an even more momentous opportunity.

Casson, 51, is coming to Dallas as the Mavericks' president of business operations.

Good chance tomorrow night when we open against the Wizards, Cooper Flagg will be the starting PG, aka PF. At 6'9". Excellent passer and game manager

Keep an eye out for the second round pick also, the little PG from Gonzaga, the assist king in NCAA last year. Blanking on his name right now

Not sure that the Cooper Flagg PF is going to work out. He looked 'out of the water' out there

After the game 2 loss to the wiz Kidd was overheard telling his wife I don't know how long I can take this.

Mixed opinions on this. The end in Dallas was not pretty. He forced his way out.

Won two rings as a Piston and content to score 17 a game there vs 27 here and be the #1 guy.

Interesting what we have now vs the NBA championship runnerup in 2024, we brought home

Still ticked at that horrible Luka trade

With Kyrie out is has always been about 26-27 You don't blow up until trade deadline next year if needed

We really have to many medical cases. AD is super BUT he has been hurt waaaay too much in his career. On no planet is he and a #1 worth Luka Doncic at this point in AD's career

Agreed. Need to see what the team can do with Kyrie.

But the AD trade is completely blowing up in Nico's face. We all said it last year - guy can't stay healthy. It remains the worst trade in NBA history.

Is it really worth giving up one year of trade value for AD, Klay maybe Irving, in order to see if Mavs catch lightning in a bottle for a season? To me, this is why you fire Nico last summer. He's a desperate fool betting it all on black because he has to.

Yup.

The idea that an older Kyrie coming off a major injury and AD are going to sniff a championship is the dumbest thing ever.

If I am the Mavs, I'm having a fire sale. Whomever has value, consider if they will be here in a couple of years. And how healthy will they be?

Build around Cooper Flagg, Dereck Lively and the other youngsters

I think they wait until trade deadline next year.

Going forward, a little concerned with Lively. He is somewhat "Street Clothes 2"

Gafford & PJ are not that old, still young enough you could pair with Flagg, Lively, & Christie

Remember when the Mavs won it they signed Peja. He helped kill the Lakers, but a more athletic match up vs the Heat he did not play. Klay is getting close to that.
