A wild last week of the season leaves everyone shocked as major upsets occur and it might end up costing the Big 12 a shot at the College Football Playoff.

Texas Tech 20, Texas 40 (Austin)
The Longhorns need to win this game if they want to stay in contention of making the Big 12 Championship and they play like it. Sam Ehlingher gets the offense rolling especially on the ground as they rack up over 250 yards rushing and four scores. Ehlingher accounts for two of those scores and he also throws a touchdown to Brennan Eagles. Caden Sterns intercepts Alan Bowman twice and the Texas defense sacks Bowman five times. Texas Tech needed this win for bowl eligibility but that doesn’t happen for Matt Wells in his first year. The Longhorns will now have to pay attention to what happens in the Baylor and Iowa State games.
West Virginia 10, TCU 27 (Fort Worth)
West Virginia will be playing much better late in the season but heading into Fort Worth for the last game of the year will not bode well for an offense that has been very average all season. TCU wrecks havoc with six sacks and four forced turnovers as they sloppy up the game enough for the offense to get in a rhythm and put some points on the board. Sewo Olonilua rushes for 150 yards and two scores to lead the way for the offense as the Horned Frogs finish a strong regular season.
Baylor 31, Kansas 10 (Lawrence)
Kansas has pretty much given up on the season and mailed it in at this point. I don’t expect Baylor to struggle too much in this game as Charlie Brewer throws two first half touchdowns and gets the Bears out to a 17-3 halftime lead. In the second half snow covers the field and it becomes a slow pace running game for both teams. Baylor runs for 120 yards in the second half alone as they run the clock down. Kansas has trouble taking care of the ball like they have all year as they turn it over three times and have very little consistent movement on offense. Baylor reaches nine wins and give themselves a shot at making the Big 12 Championship game.
Iowa State 14, Kansas State 17 (Manhattan)
Kansas State matches up really well with Iowa State especially up front. This is a defensive struggle to the finish as the conditions are not ideal. Reggie Walker cements himself as one of the best defensive players in the conference as he has three sacks and a forced fumble in this one. The defensive line holds Iowa State to 100 yards rushing as they wear down the Cyclones offensive line. Brock Purdy leads a long drive to start the 4th quarter as he finds Charlie Kolar for a 10-yard touchdown to put Iowa State up. Kansas State gets the ball and takes it all the way down to the one-yard line. There is one second left and it is 4th-and-goal. Kansas State coach Chris Klieman calls a timeout just for this play. Skylar Thompson runs a read option and plunges his way into the end zone to pull off the monster upset on the last week of the regular season. Let that field storming begin for the Wildcats as they knock off a top 10 Iowa State team and clinch a bowl berth. The Iowa State loss opens up the door for a wild three-way tiebreak situation as the Cyclones, Longhorns, and Bears are all tied at 6-3 in conference play.
Oklahoma 38, Oklahoma State 41 (Stillwater)
Oklahoma State has lost four in a row against the Sooners and last year they let that game get away in Norman. Spencer Sanders comes out on fire as he lights up the scoreboard with three touchdown passes in the first half to give OSU a 24-14 lead. He immediately throws a 50-yard touchdown strike to Tylan Wallace to start the second half and increase the lead. But the Sooners are not going down that easily as Jalen Hurts finds CeeDee Lamb and Lee Morris for touchdowns on back to back drives to cut the lead to 31-28 heading to the final quarter. After both teams exchange field goals, Jalen Hurts finds Kennedy Brooks on a screen that goes for 40 yards and a touchdown to give OU a 38-34 lead with six minutes to go. The game is put in Spencer Sanders hands and he guides the Pokes down the field before handing it off to Chubba Hubbard for a five-yard touchdown run. Jalen Hurts can’t pull off the miracle drive late. The Cowboys knocked off 6th-ranked Texas and 7th-ranked West Virginia in Stillwater a year ago and they pull of a big one this year too. Oklahoma may have just cost themselves a CFP appearance with this late-season loss.
