I have seen so many Facebook posts trying to "explain" the funding to other countries in ways to say the information about the money going to employment hiring in Serbia, or Egypt or whatever is "incorrect" and the supporters of the left are eating it up and reposting it like crazy.

Then they cry more about the deportations and act like it is children and just everyday working people being deported. They also repost stories of American citizens being deported or asked for their green cards…. But it is always just someone else's post, no news source.

And then they cry about funding going away from Americans through USAID (farmers) or education. Failing to understand that those can continue without the two organizations that were "in charge" of it.

Goes back to George Soros and his well funded (with our taxpayer money) Open Society and his dis-information and legal network. Been harping on this for years, and now we have pulled back the curtain. Not sure we will be able to make folks see 'common sense' anymore though. It's a steep, uphill battle. Soros is well funded and has been doing this for so long...

It's honest. Many of us would like to see Vance as the heir apparent but it is too early. He has four years to prove himself and he will have plenty of opportunities. I like what I have seen so far but to be honest, I haven't seen enough yet. I will have a much better idea over the next 2-3 years.

You do realize that potholes are filled by State and Local Governments, not the Feds?

The only way this helps on Main Street IF it allows more money to flow to the State and Locals faster. Even then we are talking the Interstate system, the NHS and State roads. Your local potholes are locally funded.

Bottomline, the money has to get there to be used. The Feds role is funding, not doing.

Yes I realize that. But the federal government is involved in everything and they mess up everything they touch.

If the feds only did what the constitution authorized (meaning only a fraction of what they do now), they would also need to lose much of their funding (a good reason to get rid of the income tax, if possible). By default, those tasks would revolve back to the states along with the funds. The states could then do their jobs more effectively without someone in Washington interfering and the people would be better able to hold them accountable for their failures.

I also realize that it all works in an ideal system but that's not reality is. I still believe things would be better off if we followed the constitution, all of it including the 9th & 10th amendments. The federal govt is a corrupt & incompetent leviathan. Instead of serving the people, it's reason to exist, it tries to rule over us. That explains 90% of its failures.
You keep blaming the whole thing for the wrong doings of some.

I am thankful Trump knows better. He said it tonight about USAID, the worst of the worst, we will continue to do the good ones and get rid of the bad ones. Maybe let State deal with it. At least Trump is acting like an adult this time. And mark what I say, fix what is broken, prosecute those that knowingly broke the law, and stop money going where it shouldn't.

Just so there is no doubt, disagreeing with your notions that on one in Government is worth a **** does not makes you against stopping bad spending.

No, I recognize that the whole thing is too bloated, corrupt, & inept. Its very size invites these problems and fuels them. I like the DOGE approach of auditing everything and eliminating waste wherever it is found.

We have an unsustainable $36 trillion debt. Radical measures are required to prevent national bankruptcy. What is happening now is far from perfect but a vast improvement over what happened before which was insane recklessness and the problem mushrooming out of control. It might be possible to prevent disaster but it's so late that there are doubts.

I actually agree with most of your statement here, especially the entire second paragraph.
