They certainly have a lot more to lose than most of us do!

Unfortunately the foreign interest grifters or the grifters at the Pentagon wont be touched

Disagree, there are a lot of good middle class people that have invested their life serving their country hurt by this. My niece was laid off from IRS, she did nothing but graduate and do her job. She is 32 with 3 kids married to a Pastor. Not much grift there. Know several engineers with USDOT forced to resign. These are normal people. Not high level grifters making a killing or not working. Those engineers fought to make cars safer. That was their big crime. So, this chainsaw act is hurting normal people.

Just a little fact, it is not just new hires that have a probationary period. Any promotion required 6 month probationary period. We are losing alot of capabilities. But that is good, right. Elon says so.

Not to sound harsh or indifferent... but welcome to the real world.

I have been laid off or fired 3 or 4 times in my life.

It sucks but we live in a capitalist society. And government employees should be treated just like us poor sacks in the private sector.

I feel for you niece with the three kids though... this is why family is important. I hope you are able to help her out if you can.
I have been laid off as well in 2008.

Ever by email?

Just so we're clear, the "act" is something nearly every business goes through.

Leaders frequently have to cut with a broad swath.

Anyone of us could be impacted directly or indirectly by cuts elsewhere. I'm sorry for the people involved, but it doesn't make it evil or wrong.

We are spending more than we take in, you can't micro-cut and hope to make a difference. Our government spending needs to be restructured and prioritized. That sucks for many, doesn't change that we need to do it.

And our benevolent government has done it to the private sector numerous times via legislation, acts and deals.

If u have a job which is doubtful.. I hope and ur ilk get indescribably fired with no due process.

It was going to happen sooner or later.

We are a bankrupt country and on track for our interest on debt to double GDP a decade from now... too many years of boomers kicking the can down the road.

This all should have been dealt with in 2008.

Trump is trying to raise additional funds from tariffs to off-set tax cuts.

This is not Trump's fault.

It is partly Trump's fault...

8.4 Trillion is Trump's fault.

$3.6 trillion came from COVID relief laws & EOs
$2.5 trillion from tax cut laws, and
$2.3 trillion from spending increases

This cut, cut, cut only came about after Jan 6th and Biden lawsuits. DOGE is a great way to go after your enemies and have people cheer you.

https://www.crfb.org/blogs/how-much-did-president-trump-add-debt

Renewing the tax cuts needs to happen.

We are already way overtaxed and our society needs to stop penalizing the productive members of society who are keeping things running and should start squeezing the welfare class who live off free housing, food stamps, and Medicaid.

The spending increases came during Biden's Presidency. Prior to Biden the Federal government was spending around $3-4 trillion a year... during Biden is went up to $5-6 trillion, a 50% increase.

I agree with you on COVID as I already mentioned in my previous post.

This is why I always debate you on all these global wars... America is broke and cant afford them!

I do agree with you if we are going to have this tariff policy and cozy up to Russia and China. To help on military side only to stab on trade makes no sense. Bring it home and protect our borders, we are going to need it. Trump has alienated most of our allies.

Has to be done.

We need to get our own house in order and not be worrying about the welfare of countries like Ukraine while ours is falling apart.

"allies"

I know they're our allies but they only care about looking out for themselves and don't want to look out for us.

America can transform its communities and quality of life if it can resist the globalists complete sell out and control.
And no that doesn't mean isolationist or avoiding global trade.

But will they avoid us and isolate us? It is a two way street. Hubris is a *****

I don't disagree with you. His approach is a double-edged sword. On one side, it's great for making sure that they don't mess around and that they take you seriously, and on the other, he makes them want to act out of spite.

Unfortunately, in this regard, he is what he is. No other politician would have been elected and have been strong enough to do what he's trying to do. I'm willing to give him some leeway because his ideas are long term good for America. But sure, I wish he'd at least act a bit more cordial though and not so readily denigrate our frenemies.

I'll also add, that they may not be able to afford to isolate us. Sure they'll react, but my gut tells me that they will work to restore good trading relations. At the end of the day, we'll still be allies and their greatest hope for peace.

Biden managed to add $8.4 trillion without a global pandemic

Don't forget the 10+ million illegals the fascists put in luxury hotels on the public dime.
The "debt is bigger because of tax cuts" blabber needs to just stop. Income tax revenues were up every year of Trump's first term with the tax cuts enacted. That means there must have been more economic activity during those cuts (maybe even *gasp* because of those cuts) that made up the difference in rates. Likewise, raising rates is a temporary increase in revue as business and consumer activity react to having less to spend on driving the economy. Even the article linked with these numbers is dumb enough to state,
"until the fiscal year 2023, when lower income tax collections driven by Trump's tax cuts pushed overall revenue lower."
The complaint that revenue was suddenly lower in 2023 due to a tax cut from 2017 is a bit asinine. Had tax rates been higher, economic activity would have slowed even more during the recession/not-a-recession of Biden's term. Revenues would more likely been about the same if not lower while the citizens would have been that much poorer.

US tax revenue by year:
FY 2023
$4.44 trillion
FY 2022
$4.90 trillion
FY 2021
$4.05 trillion
FY 2020
$3.42 trillion
FY 2019
$3.46 trillion
FY 2018
$3.33 trillion
FY 2017
$3.32 trillion
FY 2016
$3.27 trillion
FY 2015
$3.25 trillion
FY 2014
$3.02 trillion
FY 2013
$2.78 trillion
FY 2012
$2.45 trillion
FY 2011
$2.30 trillion
FY 2010
$2.16 trillion
FY 2009
$2.11 trillion

Agreed. Tax cuts don't cause deficits, spending increases do. Most of those increases are automatic so a necessary first step is to freeze all spending or even cut all of it 10% or more.

Wrong ruling based on jurisdiction. But correct -ish outcome since the pay was for work already performed (supposedly).

The right solution at a high level - is to stop the corrupt payment. The party where work was performed would sue in the correct jurisdiction and loosely prove they did the work/service. Then they would get paid.
