False. There are several things they are not allowed to do.

Be president
Vote in national elections
Etc
standing in court, an alien has the same constitutional rights you do = free speech, free assembly, free religious practice, an attorney (if they cannot afford one), Miranda rights, etc..... Even has a right to contest deportation in an adversarial court proceeding (his attorney and state attorney argue law before the judge). But courts have consistently upheld the principle that aliens do not have a right to come here. That's important, because once they arrive, the have the same legal protections you do. So do. not. let. them. come. Makes no sense to allow in known communists, islamists, or anyone else who preaches revolution against us. It's legally clear we can prevent them from coming. But once they get here, it gets a LOT harder to deal with them.

Manufacturers can on longer count on reflexive US aversion to tariffs. The only way to hedge against that risk is to invest in MANUFACTURING in the USA (to ensure access to the US market).

Nothing new here. We did that in the 70s with Japanese automakers, and now most Japanese brand vehicles sold here are made here. Trump is merely trying to force that same dynamic on other sectors now.

Canada gets hurt worse in a trade war because they are running a trade surplus with us. That's a law of gravity working against Canada, and they will cave first (because they have no choice but to do so).

it's no accident Trump is calling Canada the 51st state. The Canadian & Mexican economies are so tied to the US economy that they are, in macroeconomic terms, the 51st and 52nd state. They cannot just pivot & sell elsewhere in enough time to avoid economic calamity. Here's the key facts:
Trade is 67% of Canadian GDP (3/4ths of it with USA) = trade with USA is HALF of the Canadian economy.
Trade is 74% of Mexican GDP (2/3rd of it with USA) = trade with USA is HALF of the Mexican economy
Trade is 15% of United States GDP (don't need to go any further than that.)

Canada and Mexico are in a gunfight armed with a plastic knife.
The outcome is foreordained.

Intentionally depressing the global economy via tariffs impacts everyone. There are things he has placed tariffs on that we don't grow anywhere in the U.S. or manufacture anywhere, but are part of supply chains of U.S. companies production of higher value outputs. This is insanity and unnecessary.

You know damn well we aren't even remotely prepared to take on the production of things like lower grade steel and mining because we decided regulatory, labor, and environmental concerns are the priority.

Farmers could only dream of the level of support banks, foreign governments in the middle east, and defense contractors receive from the government.

If the tariffs make American farmers profitable again then there wont be a need for farm subsidies.

The market reaction has been poor, at best, and things haven't gotten better (though it's very, very early on).

We simply cannot produce EVERYTHING we consume in the U.S. Not even close. Just get ready to pay more for cars, lumber, produce, and even energy. Would love for Trump to restart the Keystone Pipeline, but it no longer makes economic sense with Trump's tariff on Canadian crude oil.

The other irony in all of this is that basically agricultural products have no tariffs between Mexico, US and Canada. Even the dairy one that Trump keeps touting has to do with quotas of the products imported. There are no tariffs on imports up to the quotas.

So what is the irony? The quotas were agreed upon as part of the USCMA agreement that Trump negotiated in his first term.

Canada has had 200% tariffs on American dairy long before Trump took office.

The Canadian tariffs are retaliatory, not protectionist. We have a $80 billion trade deficit with Canada.

As for China and Mexico, American ag is taking bullets bcs it is one of the few industries that is a net exporter to those countries. We have a $300 billion trade deficit with China and $170 billion trade deficit with Mexico.

The USCMA increased access to the Canadian dairy market unavailable to other countries. Somewhere to the tune of a 1/2 a billion dollars or more.

The year 2000 saw the highest government payment share of net farm income in our nation's history and that year farmers received a little over $30 billion in subsidies and loans.

The Pentagon or Medicare goes through $30 billion in a day.

We sent $30 billion to Israel last year alone.
