It's fun mainly because of the historical stuff, but ...But I recommend it - it's entertaining.
- It ignores the Back to the Future rule.
- There is a pretty ridiculous plot hole
- The ending is shocking

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (2026) has faced backlash and accusations of being "woke" from critics and commentators like Elon Musk and Stephen Miller, following its January 2026 premiere. Conversely, cast members and defenders argue the franchise has historically been "woke" from its inception, focusing on progressive, diverse, and socially aware themes.

And I would agree. "Youth need to be activist", all sorts of Dykes, worse than the last couple of series by far. They try to insult conservatives at every turn

Enjoyed "His and Hers" on NF. Its a 6 episode limited series so pretty easy to binge in a few days. Pretty good thriller.

Sandookan - The Pirate Prince.
Not very deep but not a bad binge for a day. Doubt anyone will ever say it's award worthy

Song Song Blue was well done. Kate Hudson shocked me with her singing. She can sing. Hugh Jackman is the same character in everything, it just seems to differ if he is singing or not. If you like Neil Diamond, the songs will bring back memories.

It looked good in the previews ... but I think it is already gone ...

Nope. What is it about?

Just re-watched Taboo, a Tom Hardy. That is really good. Wish there would have been more seasons.

Yep. That was solid

Agreed. Very good show.
From the interwebz...
Tom Hardy only appeared in one season of Taboo primarily due to his intense scheduling commitments with major projects like Venom, alongside a desire to ensure the show's quality by not rushing production. While a second season was confirmed, the long delay was caused by finding time for the passion project. The show is not cancelled, but rather delayed due to the logistical challenges of aligning the schedules of the key creator
- Busy Schedule: Hardy's, and creator Steven Knight's, packed schedules with other projects (e.g., Venom, Peaky Blinders) forced the series to take a back seat.
- Quality Control: Hardy emphasized wanting to do the second season "properly," treating it as a passion project with his father rather than rushing it.
- Active Development: Despite the years-long gap, Taboo was officially renewed for a second season, with scripts actively being worked on in 2025 and expected to resume, according to IMDb reports.

So I watched "One Battle after Another" the other night on Prime. I have got to do a better job of reading up on movies. I knew something about Dicaprio's character trying to rescue his daughter, but I wasn't clear on the general plot of the story.
Basically, it's a thoroughly unlikable movie. All the characters in the movie are unsympathetic. The daughter is an exception for a bit, but she doesn't stay that way. Most of the "heroes" of the story are left-wing terrorists. The bad guys are racist military types.
Overall, it felt sleazy all the way through. I mostly kept watching it because I'd paid $6 for it, but I probably should have decided my time was more valuable at some point.

TOS was definitely progressive. I don't really care if they sometimes are progressive about things that I don't particularly support. I do, however, have a problem with shows that are going nowhere. Right now, this looks like Beverly Hills 90210 meets the future. Not sure how they're going to make this show Star Trek.
