The series, created and co-written by Momoa and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett, has been in production for about 10 years, enlisting a veritable mountain of cultural consultants and language experts a necessary feature, given that the majority of the story is told in the Indigenous language Olelo Hawai'i.

A recent Paramount Global earnings call previewed the fall slate for the company's streamer, Paramount+. Spoiler alert: Fort Worth-raised show maker Taylor Sheridan's name is written all over it.

The prolific writer will have three shows airing one after the other this fall.

Landman, the oil drama based on Christian Wallace's Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown, returns to the screen for a second season in December, Paramount Global's then co-CEO Christopher McCarthy said in the July 31 call, a recording of which was obtained by The Dallas Morning News.

Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone as a mobster, premieres its third season in September.

The fourth season for Mayor of Kingstown, which follows Jeremy Renner as the titular and de-facto "mayor" Mike McLusky, comes out in October.

McLusky is a problem fixer in a Michigan town home to several prisons. He serves as a liaison between various coalitions the incarcerated, prison guards, cops not unlike Landman protagonist Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), who staves off crisis and brokers peace among the Texas oil industry's barons and workers.

McCarthy also teased the release of Dutton Ranch, a Yellowstone spinoff centered around Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser), although a date has not been set.

As the so-called Sheridan universe has expanded, North Texans have gotten an up-close look at his productions.

Landman has shot its second season across the region, notably shutting down streets in downtown Fort Worth and two Dallas neighborhoods the Arts District and Knox-Henderson to accommodate filming crews.

"The Last Rifleman", sad, sad story about a 92 and 3/4 yoa fella played by Pierce Brosnan, nearly a one many show. Be sure to watch through the credits.

He and his wife are in a Irish nursing home. She passed away. Normandy reunion is coming up.

All about his trip via all sorts of conveyances to go back to Normandy, along with the folks that he meets.

It's a little slow, just like Pierce's character, but worth a couple of hours of your day.

Watching Fire Country right now. Sort of soap opera-ish, but the fire fighting aspect and the convict to fireman program is pretty cool. Only in a little bit, but worth a watch just for the fire fighting process and techniques,

Never fire fought, so have no idea how accurate some of it is. Sure there is Hollywood as there always is. But a decent watch.

The first time you go into a fully steel building that is on fire is nutz. The smoke has nowhere to go.

One of my ships caught on fire in Portland, Oregon in wet dock. Some shoreside folks had been hired to installl some tables in the main lounge, Main Deck. They were supposed to have firewatch on the deck below to make sure nothing was coming through the decks. They didnt. I happened to be walking up the stairs toward Main Deck from my office, one deck below. I happened to look up and it appeared that the ceiling was getting lower... The welding above caught the insulation below on fire and it was rapidly spreading. But the smoke didnt disperse. It simply lowered in an exact gray-brown layer on the walls, rapidly moving down.

Finally finished Andor. That is a dang good show. Had to watch Rogue One again after finishing. I like it better every time I watch it.

My favorite line from Andor, "if you're not a rebel spy, you clearly missed your calling".

I know. I was wishing there was another season or so.

Sooner or later, they will start remaking all the originals. I think the first one was 1977. If they were Marvel Comics, they would be remade three or four times!

If/when they remake the originals I'm out. There is an entire galaxy to make stories out of. Go back in time, go into the future, go to another area of the galaxy. Andor proved you don't have to have Jedi and great writing can exist in the Star Wars universe.

My guess is that George Lucas is stopping them from doing it, maybe until his death. Now he's 81 so not sure what happens after his death.

Hey thanks for watching!

Hey guy! Glad to hear from you.

BTW - TCU Press picked up my bio/search for my brother. True story of my travels and finding my birth family. Turned out my brother Johnny was Military Intelligence Morse Code intercept in Vietnam, 3 tours, then back to UNT, recruited by CIA, went to Ranger school, HALO and all that stuff, then off to Laos to work in country where the NVA was for Air America and fighting the NVA with the local Thai/Laos/Tribesmen as Commander. He did three tours there before he was KIA in Paksong, Laos in 72. Book will be finished before Christmas, then TCU Press is about half a year out. Should be published next summer.

My co-author is GOOD! This is his 20th book. Teaches Entertainment Law at UTA

We kept the movie rights!! (gave them like 10% as they are publishing the book)

Then she starts getting political and kinda blows the whole show. I was fine with it until then. Why do writers insert politics in places where its not necessary?
