"I Am Raquel Welch" on Hulu. Really good biography but it really starts in her Hollywood days. She used to live in Dallas in 1962 and 63. Following a separation from her husband, she moved there with her children, working as a Neiman Marcus model and a cocktail waitress at the Cabana before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her film career

That was one beautiful woman.

For you younger folk, she was the gal in the 1,000,000 Years BC poster on Andy's wall in "Shawshank Redemption"

"Day of the Fight" - really cool look at the day that a former world champion boxer, after many years away, returns to the ring after killing a child while drunk driving. Micheal Pitt is awesome.

Sitting Bull is pretty good.

So I am watching Matlock with Kathy Bates. S1 isnt horrible, sets up a great fight for control of a massive law firm in S2.

So last night I started S2. Immediately something felt off. The writers decided to smoke some cannabis before they wrote. S1 E1 had exactly the same story as an E in S1, but some of the time line continued for the shows stars. S2 E 2 had another story with the same actors as S1, but slightly different angles, but the time line jumped to the end of S1 for the stars. And so on and so forth. In E3, the timeline came back to about the middle of last season.

It's bizarre for the viewer. Not sure what they were trying to accomplish, but they failed. For viewers that just want to follow the fight for the law firm and not look at repeats, t's frustrating as hell

Tremendous waste of Kathy Bates. She's one heck of an actress.

"Apex" on Netflix. Charlize Theron chased through the outback by a whacko. Nice couple of hours. Definitely not box office material

Saw "Marty Supreme" last night. A little disjointed, you look back and wonder why, but great performance by Timothy Chamalee. About ping pong if you can believe it, without shoving it down your throat

Taipei gangs in CA. Very good with good comedic aspects. You would like it. Full of contrasting characters, which always makes for good stories. Doing duty instead of living the life they want. Several layers.

Watched "Deep Cover" on Prime the other night. Good cast including Sean Bean, Orlando Bloom playing a bad actor, the guy who plays Nate in Ted Lasso, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Ian McShane.

Fun premise. An improv group is recruited by a cop to help bust some sellers of illegal cigarettes and they keep escalating the situation. Execution is okay. Worth a watch if you're looking for 90 minutes to kill.

Earlier this week, Billy Bob Thornton revealed on Howie Mandel's podcast that Landman will begin filming season 3 in August in and around Fort Worth

Enjoying the completely unhinged season 5 of The Boys on Prime. not as good as previous seasons, but that's typical for shows in the last season.

"Man on Fire" on netflix. Really choppy and the dude they got to play Creasy may be the worst actor in history. I think he may be one of the rappers that pays for everything so they have to put him in the role

Watched Bugonia. Emma Stone and Mart native Jesse Plemons star. Very strange film. A beekeeper, Plemons, kidnaps a pharmaceutical CEO, Stone. European cinema fans might fans might enjoy but would not recommend to anyone who prefers more mainstream cinema. Currently on Netflix. Very strange film.

I think he has a writing staff, to the best of my knowledge. Not sure how he could write all the TV shows he is currently working on.

A couple of movie reports

Sheep Detectives: Good movie. Not as much of a comedy as the trailer makes it appear. Still, a good mystery/comedy. Has some nice twists to it.

Michael: As I've told my wife and daughter, the critics hated it; the fans rate it pretty well; and I basically agree with both of them. If you want to go enjoy some great music and a generally feel good show, this is a good choice. If you're hoping for insights into who Michael was, you'll be disappointed. It pretty much ignores most of the most odd elements of MJ's life.

Mandalorian and Grogu: This is basically season 4 of the Mandalorian with three episodes tied together in one movie. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It does feel a tad odd. Still, this gives some idea of the good directions that Star Wars could have gone in the sequels rather than the junk they did. The musical feel is very different from the John Williams approach to Star Wars, which is also not necessarily a bad thing. It gives a bit of a haunting feel to the show. There are things you could pick at and wonder why, but overall it's a fun ride for 2+ hours.

The show is described as an "edgy drama" about a team at the last medical center before "miles of nowhere."

The series, which is currently untitled, is co-created and written by original Grey's Anatomy scribe Shonda Rhimes and Houston native Meg Marinis, who is the current showrunner on the flagship series.
"I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey's Anatomy universe," Marinis, a University of Texas at Austin grad, said in a statement. "This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from 'Grey's' for more than two decades all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it."

Agree on Mandalorian. An extended episode of the show. Didn't regret going but also wouldn't blame someone for waiting for it to hit streaming. Things to nitpick for sure but also was mostly entertained which is the point of going to the movies
