Unless you are extremely cash poor, reverse mortgages are not a good deal.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

An excellent reason to deport all illegals: the 10-20 million Joe Biden brought in to the US account for 30% or more of the increase in rents. Housing markets and the economy in general has suffered ever since, with Americans in the lower classes and the middle class suffering more. The laws of supply and demand are real.

So true. Just look at this thread. It is full of people saying that housing IS affordable…. You just have to live in a high crime area, in a tiny home, work 2 jobs to save to move to the suburbs and blaming the younger generations for not managing their money well and taking stereotypes to the max.

So true. This is my wife and I currently. We want to move to a house with a little bit of land. We don't "need" to move. A little more house would be nice but really we want the land to use.

But we currently have a low rate. We don't want to pay a ton more just for a high rate.

Same for cars. We don't have payments on either of our vehicles but would like to get newer ones to avoid the maintenance. But neither of us has ever bought a car at a rate higher than 3.9. But right now it seems no one is offering less than 5. Some don't go lower than 6.5.

Both sort of blow our mind a little because we have excellent credit and yet that doesn't even seem to budge the rates at all.

That sucks that you guys are stuck…but sounds like you are being smart about it. At least you are in a position where you can be patient and wait.

Agreed.

The cars are the harder part as we both have vehicles that are out of warranty, slightly older and need to be replaced soon. But again the high rates seem too high right now. I've only bought a few vehicles but always had low rates. My wife is the same. So rates that are double what we are used to just seem high.

Colorado housing market is saturated with over priced listings.

Primarily because the sellers don't have enough equity to drop the price low enough to generate a sale.

Another wave of foreclosures seems to be a legitimate possibility

This shows exactly why people cannot afford rent or buying a house without multiple jobs. Unlike those in this thread that complain about young people buying too much stuff, spending unwisely, not budgeting, etc. (which I am sure some are but not all) the truth is that income has not kept up with costs.
