Hamas could release the hostages. But they haven't.
Israel could commit genocide. But they haven't.
If Hamas could commit genocide on Israel, they damn sure would in about 30 seconds.

The silence does indeed speak loudly.

No, if they committed actual genocide I'd say they committed genocide. I don't have a dog in this hunt, and I don't have your commitment to abuse of the English language.

Israel wants to call its concentration mega-camp a "humanitarian city," but when I say the same thing the UN and multiple human rights organizations are saying (including Israeli ones), I'm abusing the language? If you're not biased, you sure know how to fake it.

Israel claims to have evidence, in the form of video, showing this dude participating in rocket attacks, and claims to have warned him not to continue to stay in the area.
Haven't seen the evidence yet, but would agree this isn't a good look for Israel. They better have some evidence of what they claim.
Better yet, they should show the evidence against all of the 240+ Palestinian journalists who have been killed since October 2023.
There is pretty well-documented evidence of Hamas fighters calling themselves "journalists" for reasons such as these - trying to make it appear as if Israel is targeting journalists as opposed to militants involved in the conflict. The question is, was the Al Jazeera reporter one of them?
Actually pretty poorly documented.Quote:
Israel has a longstanding, documented pattern of accusing journalists of being terrorists without providing any credible proof.
"Israel is murdering the messengers," said CPJ Regional Director Sara Qudah. "Israel wiped out an entire news crew. It has made no claims that any of the other journalists were terrorists. That's murder. Plain and simple."
"It is no coincidence that the smears against al-Sharif -- who has reported night and day for Al Jazeera since the start of the war -- surfaced every time he reported on a major development in the war, most recently the starvation brought about by Israel's refusal to allow sufficient aid into the territory," Qudah said, adding that the famine has been independently corroborated by aid workers and medics, despite Israel's refusal to let foreign reporters into Gaza.
Al-Sharif had been one of Al Jazeera's best-known reporters in Gaza since October 2023, and one of several journalists whom Israel had previously alleged were members of Hamas, without providing evidence.

These statements are so ironic, given your repeated justification of Russia leveling Ukrainian population centers.

Russia is fighting a war, not leveling cities. That's what all those reports of weeks-long battles are about.
The IDF levels everything in front of it whenever and wherever it advances. When was the last time you heard about an actual battle in Gaza?

The silence does indeed speak loudly.
Please delineate for everyone who in Gaza is innocent in your estimation.
Just to help:
Were hitler youth innocent?
Were the League of German Girls innocent?
Were those just going to work supporting the German economy innocent?
How would outsiders only feed the innocent and not the combatants and supporters at the same time?
When is it the responsibility of combatants who control a territory to take care of the citizens in that territory and give up their quest for power? Are the babies in their jurisdiction their responsibility?
Hamas initiated this with a savage attack on civilians including babies.do you think they really care about babies' health as long as they are in power?
Maybe the Russians in Ukraine should call a ceasefire so everyone in Ukraine can sit down for dinner peacefully and rest up. Stop their offensive and send in food and medicines for the Ukrainians, then try to restart the offensive later.
Historically and militarily the demands on Israel at this point are unprecedented. It's the old "rules for thee and not for me" type of demands. No major nation would acquiesce to the demands you provide for Israel to "stop the genocide". They are in a war of survival and self defense. They have just been attacked on two fronts.

All non-combatants are innocent for purposes of this discussion. Obviously that includes civilian workers and youth.
Occupying powers have a responsibility under international law to restore public order and safety by, among other things, preventing mass starvation and disease. There is absolutely nothing new or unprecedented about this demand.
The conflict didn't start on October 7. It's Israel that is now attacking on at least four fronts.

Israel is not an occupying force if they don't control the area.
If you're suggesting that the presence of an insurgency negates Israel's status as an occupying power, that would be incorrect. By its very definition, insurgency is a violent and organized rebellion against a government or occupying authority.
