I remember seeing it when it came out. I like horror but found this one pretty predictable. Not Oscar worthy by any stretch of MY imagination

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have voted for it if I had an Oscar vote, but if my only other choice was One Battle After Another, I'd probably vote for it twice.

Anybody watch foreign movies, closed captioned in English? There are some good stories, if you don't mind reading and putting up with some cheesy music sometimes (amazes me how the Asian music they choose is so bad),

24 is excellent, it is Norwegian. Worth watching. True story.

It kinda depend on which country it is, for me. Some of the oriental stuff is hard to connect to, however European is easier. And 24 was very good. Watched one the other day about a Finish soldier (cant think of it's name) that was killing Nazi's left and right, all by himself. It was really good

The Asian ones i like are subject matter specific. Grand Maison Tokyo was very good about French cuisine and Michelon stars .

Just finished Young Sherlock. First season of show based on a series of YA novels. It was directed by Guy Ritchie (who also did the RD,Jr Sherlock movies). It has his typical manic pace and is interesting, but it doesn't really have the feel of a Sherlock Holmes story since Sherlock isn't yet the super sleuth.

"One Battle After Another", should have called it "Woke Ecstasy"

Starts off with a raid of an Ice facility helping illegals escape, then abortion, then corruption of Army officer, bunches of anti-establishment folks, racism, escape to Mexico, bogus older white men, 'dedicated to make the world safe and pure', 'American born by gentile', 'Double White Yankee', suppression of "free speech", woke verbiage... you get the idea

You can see why this won the liberal odyssey, the Oscar. Perfect example of why Hollywood has gone into the crapper. If you want to see a good picture, make sure it's made outside of Hollywood, Vancouver or NYC

I watch the occasional foreign film. Intouchables (French film) is one of my favorite movies. Headhunters (Norwegian film) is a fun time. Aksel Hennie and pre GOT fame Nikolai Coster-Waldau.

Peaky Blinders movie was ok. Not as good as series.

Project Hail Mary -- go see it.

The book is great science fiction. The movie probably doesn't qualify as that (it's hard to "do science" in a 2 1/2 hours without being really boring), but it dances close enough to still be good. And Ryan Reynolds is excellent in the key role. It's often funny, occasionally touching, and remarkably limited in its use of CGI. Good flick.

Thanks, will check out. Love good science. What you described reminds me of the write up for the Martian. Book was very good, movie was entertaining and science enough.

When you try to do science, you end up with Interstellar, which still hurts my wife's head getting around the physics.

Night Agent has been approved for S4.

Didnt really take off for too long. The interaction between father and son could have been better written.
