They were a one-off tribute to Mother Love Bone. Two of the guys from MLB founded Pearl Jam after their lead singer OD'ed and they hooked up with Cornell and the rest of Pearl Jam to do a tribute to MLB.BUBear03 said:

Nirvana and the Pumpkins are probably a toss-up for me. Depends on the day. Soundgarden probably gets under-rated, Cornell was a great vocalist. Corgan got too artsy on the later SP albums.BUBear03 said:

The one hit wonder problem does weigh down the 80s, but the College/Alt-Rock and post-punk stuff was interesting. None of this will fly with the metal crowd, but most of the best music from bands like U2, R.E.M., The Smiths, New Order was in the 80s.

Somewhere in the early 2000's, country music switched from mostly love songs based in folk music, to what I call 'bro country'. Florida Georgia Line is a good example. Or really any country songs that emphasize blue jeans, cold beer, or trucks. That awful 'chicken fried' song comes to mind
