The Texas Senate acquitted Paxton on every charge. The securities case was dismissed. Staff complaints and a House impeachment still produced zero convictions. That's not a criminal.
The affair and divorce are ugly, no argument. Personal messiness doesn't disqualify someone unless you're ready to empty half of Congress.
"Protector of pedophiles" is pure Talarico campaign sludge over one plea deal after a hung jury. The victim didn't want another trial, so the office cut a deal. Turning that into "he protects pedophiles" is just desperate attack-ad garbage.

Actually, acquitted does mean not guilty. That's how the legal system works. For some people it might be difficult to believe, but there are only two choices. Just like the two sexes (genders).
Of course, not everyone is a bigot. Unfortunately, there still are plenty of bigots in this country, racists, misogynists, haters of Christian's, etc. Usually they are the ones most obsessed by someone's race (or other group identity) and they are always trying to separate people by race or judge people solely on their ethnicity, sex, faith, etc.
