You had better have that attitude with the Dems because they will raise your taxes and make everything more expensive. The "Green New Deal" scam, open borders, and freebies for everyone (especially illegals) all greatly increase the costs of energy, food, health care, and everything else. It's economic reality. As bad as things are now, it's not nearly as bad as it will be if Dems gain power. They have already promised it. It's undeniable and inevitable.
They are socialists and all of this is what socialists do. Look to Europe. They are further along and America's Left wants the same here.
Relax, Elon, your portfolio is safe for the foreseeable future. Even if Dems take control of House or (less likely) Senate, they will not have power to get past the Presidential veto. Also, we both may have a negative view of politicians, but some of them are not entirely stupid, and know how to keep the job they are spending a fortune to get. Last time we had fiscal conservatives calling the shot was Bush 41 in the early 90s. Republicans and Democrats came together and put controls in place on government spending along with a modest tax increase. The good and the bad of that: the changes resulted in 3 consecutive years of budget surpluses, and one of the most prosperous economic timeframes in American history (before the tax cuts of 2001 and the 2 forever wars we paid for on a credit card, economist projected the National debt would have been eliminated in 2012) ; the bad was that Bush and everyone involved in the compromise decision lost their jobs.
I suspect there will be squawking about our absurd fiscal situation where we are building a 2trillion$ annual deficit, but nothing will happen next two years. Even if Dems take the White House, they will know the damage a new tax bill will make, and put it off. So, in 5 years, Republicans will come out of their 25 year hibernation and start talking about fiscal responsibility, but some of us will remember who the actual snake oil salesman were who put is in the mess.
